Think we should start taking bets on who we think will be the first major acquisition for the Jays. My ass is getting so bored here lol.

Bellinger

Bellinger

I think so too... don't see any team wanting him more than us. Just preparing myself for the pricetag shock lol.

Hopefully the Jays have drawn a line in the sand with Boras and Bellinger.

A half decently palatable number. Here is what we'll pay and here is when we need an answer by, then we have to move on to other options.

Gift him to the Yankees then?

Ya you only take that approach if you got something else lined up. We don't owe Bellinger s*** so I assume we're trying other ways to improve if he wants to sit on our offer. If we find something better, only then we pull the offer from the table.

Might be better off trading for Yelich or something like that than overpaying for Bellinger.

Might be better off signing Bellinger than overpaying for Yelich.

None of us know how the negotiations are going.

Broken down 32 year old Yelich coming off a dead cat bounce season, and signed until 2029 on $24M AAV reeks of desperation. Maybe if he is free.

Yeah, no thanks.

Yelich would probably be a good fit for the Yankees

You can bet he pretty much would be free, and the Brewers would still have to pay some of that contract mitigating most of the risk involved.

Maybe you can get Adames at the same time, plugging the hole at 3B as well.

I'm not huge on Yelich but it might be a better way to go than paying $200+ million for Bellinger.

He wouldn't just be free - Toronto would get assets for taking him on.

If we could sign winker for a mill or 2 then Trade for Cronenworth with Pearson Berria +. I think that would be a positive move and fairly cheap move. Push Biggio to LF and add Winker to the DH role vs righties.

Did you know that Jesse Winker doesn't even like baseball?
