jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Gimme Ohtani on a mega deal and Yamamoto I don't ask for much. Let's trade for Soto as well. Just imagine haha.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 If the Jays managed to sign Ohtani, would you make a trade for Soto as well? I mean why the F not! Imagine a lineup with both those guys! Now that's more like it, dare to dream. It's attainable if they actually landed Ohtani.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Soler didn’t get qualified seems like a pretty obvious target to add power to the Lineup. Would be hesitant to go anymore than 3 years for him. The team that does probably gets him. Yeah as a LF/DH he could be intriguing. He offers more power than Teo, LGJ, and Pederson.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I was going to suggest Teoscar instead of Hoskins but Steamer doesn't really like Teoscar that much. 105 projected wRC+ compared to Hoskins' 116 wRC+. With Horwitz in the fold (projected 113 wRC+) I'd still probably be interested in Teoscar over Hoskins but I'd be game for either.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 So you'd be upset if the Jays were to get Shohei Ohtani? Dude's a beast bat and top of the rotation arm in one man, lmao. Complain...complain... complain... there's no satisfying you. That's not what I meant because I'd obviously go nuts if we ever got Ohtani. Just meant I would prefer to get a guy like Judge and an elite pitcher for the same price as Ohtani if we had the choice. In the end, my post was unnecessary lol.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 MLB Trade Runors is projecting 12 years 264 mil for Bellinger Ya I'll pass on that term without hesitation. No one should be getting 10+ years unless they're a generational talent.

Getterrr done Atkins!

As usual, you’d be better not to get fixated on the years. It’s why baseball AAVs are not rising anywhere close to NFL/NBA over time. 8 years at $33m AAV is a better way to look at it So by nerd math, if it’s $10m WAR you need to do 26 WAR in 8 years to break even

Ehjays Verified Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Varsho not winning one is very much ********. We all s*** on that guy but he was far and away the best LF in Baseball and he's probably a top 5 CF as well. Good call and Bassitt totally agrees wth you.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Are there any sort of projections for Jung Hoo Lee? I don't think enough KBO guys have made the leap to offer anything reliable but I have no idea what one can expect from him.

Laika Community Moderator Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 The Brewers are suddenly looking for a manager for the first time in almost a decade, with Craig Counsell’s stunning move to the Cubs yesterday. Some of the options they are considering as a replacement, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, are current Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy, Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly, Astros Bench coach Joe Espada, Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough, Astros hitting coach Troy Snitker and former player Rickie Weeks. please hire him
BatFlip Verified Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Are there any sort of projections for Jung Hoo Lee? I don't think enough KBO guys have made the leap to offer anything reliable but I have no idea what one can expect from him. I've read a few things on Jung Hoo Lee, sorry can't dig up the links. In summary, I think the general consensus is that he may not be good enough in the field to stick in CF and doesn't have enough pop to be a prototypical corner outfielder. Seems to be a elite contact, slap hitter type who is still young. Based on what I've read, it sounds to me that his upside is as a Frank Catalanotto type hitter. I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know. I'm not sure what to think about a gamble on a successful MLB transition - I think I'd lean towards a soon to be 32 yo Jorge Soler at 45/3. Soler offers more pop and IMO higher predictability of outcome despite his up and down career. Wishful thinking, but you could also add both and have Jorge in a primary DH spot unless Jung Hoo Lee shits the bed.
