Is Schneider hurt? Starting both Biggio and KK just because of a RHP starting is f***ing insane. Does a 24 year old in Schneider really need a day off? His OBP is .514 with tons of production in 72 MLB plate appearances. Is Ross and JS both on the same f***ing drugs?

I think the worst part of the whole situation on those two plays, all Vlad needs to do is look at what Schneider did in the PA following his. He also smashed a low line drive to left field and what did he do? Stand and stare at it because he was pretty sure it would be a hit? Nope. Busted his ass out of the box and got to 2b fairly comfortably. Even the slightest hesitation on on his part and he might have been out. The example he needs to follow was literally the very next PA after his.

Which brings the next obvious point as to why Vlad needs to be following a rookies example. Vlad should be the example.

He wants the adoration, he wants the glory, he wants the goofy times in the dugout and there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting those things either, but he damn sure has to get it through his head that he needs to play the game with alot more hustle if he wants those other things to come his way without coming off like an uncaring brat.

Both Vladdy and Schneider are 24 years old

One was born with more natural talent and the other worked a lot harder to get here and it shows

I don't get it either honestly. At this point it's hard to point at Biggio and think he's going to be better on any given day regardless of a RHP being on the hill.

It's crazy.. Biggio is batting second also.

Well we know the logic there, he’s the easiest guy to pinch hit for in the middle/late innings if they bring in a lefty, so they figure he gets 2-3 good PAs against a righty then his job is done. Belt would obviously be there if he was healthy.

Better than Varsho or KK hitting there I think. I’m not making any judgements on Horwitz until he gets more PAs but to see him in cleanup must be a good thing right?

Jays with the second best avg with RISP since August 1 at like .330

Super hard to believe but the tide seems to have turned for the offense.

Despite the higher RISP numbers the offense hasn't really improved that much overall since August 1 though. From start of the season until July 31 the offense was 14th overall in runs scored, since then it's moved all the way up to 13th overall in runs scored. The last few weeks the offensive numbers are pretty encouraging but at the same time the team has played against some pretty awful pitching staffs as well so it's easy to take the numbers with a grain of salt.

I'm sure Guillermo is simply coaching better these days and has told hitters to try and get hits when runners are in scoring position.

Really bizarre.

They either wanted to give him an extended mental break from pitching or they have him going through a fitness regimen.

You want to tell him to just forget pitching this year and hit the stairmaster all September, but they kind of do need to build him up just in case there is a run of injuries and they need him to start a game or two.

Something is definitely going on there. I'm hoping they are just starting his summer conditioning & pitch development work early and it's not Manoah throwing a temper tantrum.

Or he is having a tantrum. Yeah that's possible.

So Manoahs just been chilling this whole time?

Trade him for a bat and sign Yamamoto this offseason

no point in trading him

you'd get nothing that would crack the starting lineup anyway and Toronto needs the SP depth

One down year cant kill his value that much

Trade him for who?

It's a little bit more than a "down year"

Go find a specific trade target that would clearly crack the Jays 2024 lineup

Sounds like he’s having a tantrum

Away from the team for a *few* days

“According to MiLB.com, a player on the temporarily inactive list is a designation for when "a minor league player is away from a team for a few days because of a personal matter, travel to an All-Star Game, etc., and is not placed on the (IL), he is placed on the temporary inactive list."

Ok it's story time. I have a friend who seems to have a ton of connections to the Jays and he tells me:

1. Gausman microdoses shrooms before every start (which increases focus). I'm curious if this is a thing with other players.

2. Kikuchi eats honey every 2nd inning, which he apparently uses to get a better grip on the ball - but has gone unnoticed by MLB all year (this one seems fishy).

3. Clement is a booze hound. One of the only single guys on the team and loves to party and wheel the ladies. Not a coke guy though - although it sounds like others are (which isn't surprising).

I expect most will be skeptical, but I thought it was interesting and thought I'd share.

How?

I dont see how team like St Louis wouldnt give up someone like Gorman to get Manoah

Been a top of the rotation guy for the majority of his major league career, still has plenty of team control.

Not saying it'd be smart for the jays, but I cant see how he couldnt get someone that can be in the lineup for next year.

Hah... for the sake of value, he dropped from top 100 to around 400 this season in Fantasy Rankings, it's cratered dude.

#3 is confirmed. Clement, Luplow, Swanson and others party with the Gate14 crew and drink at bars with them.
