Bassitt seems to have righted the ship. Kikuchi and Berrios have been surprisingly good. Cimber was bad but he got DL'd.

That means the only ostensible issue on the pitching staff right now is... Alek Manoah!

pressure is for tires!

Berrios is 8th in the AL with a 1.0 WAR. He has a higher WAR than arms like Ohtani, McClanahan, Framber, Bieber, & Javier thus far.

Kikuchi has been rock solid as a No. 5 starter.

Bassitt it seems has righted the ship. He'll settle into a solid mid-rotation guy.

Manoah has a some ugly numbers - 28K/20BB in 31.1 innings and a 5.65 xFIP. He's not a true front of the rotation starter. Looks like Berrios is the real No. 2 behind Gausman.

It's Capra. Who gives a f***.

Dude always seems to hit. Kind of excited to see him get some run. Or at least i hope he does in their major league squad.

AAAA depth is hardly something I'm gonna lose any sleep over. All those guys are pawns, that can be sacrificed, mixed and matched.

Ya. We are rolling now. Rotation and pen. Hit a bad patch of games and stats can change pretty quickly early. Obviously I’d like it to hold up, but by say mid July well know more about the pen’s whiff rate ranking.

The club's overall pitching numbers are insane the last two times through the rotation. The team as a whole has put up a 1.91 ERA/2.53 FIP with 10.52 K/9 vs 1.92 BB/9.

His minor league numbers really aren’t that impressive. He’s organizational depth at best.

Oh absolutely. Just excited to see him get a shot.

You know what? I just looked at his numbers and in my head his minor league numbers were way better than that lol.

Must be strange to get traded from America’s Team to Canada’s Team though. Either way he’s part of something special this Season.

Merriefield in the 5 spot. Thank you John Schneider. I will indeed shut up now.....until Merrifield goes cold and Varsho heats up.:P

I was honestly pretty comfortable with Rob Brantly as emergency depth. He was good in ST and has been good in AAA. Perhaps he is injured?

I think it has more to do with them liking Heineman. They couldn't keep him last year because they had Jansen, Kirk, and Moreno.

I'd still flip Varsho and Kirk, we need guys with speed in front of El Capitan and Jansen. :P

You may be reading too much into the batting order for the day: Seattle started a lefty.

Quite possible. Let's see how the lineup fares against Boston.

Some people are pissed about the strength of schedule to begin but this will even itself out. The fact Toronto has started so well against a tough schedule gives me a lot of confidence.

That's how I'm looking at it too

It's still early but we could realistically be looking at scenario where the 4th Place Team in the AL East could have a better record than the top team in the AL Central. With less divisional games its even more possible. Boston pitching is really s***** so I don't know how long they can hang around .500. But yea its absolutely possible.

It will. It all comes down to execution. Strength of schedule is a thing. Increases the probability of a W or L obviously...but they are still MLB teams and you have to play well to get the Ws.

Its probably not statistically accurate but it feels like we lick our chops for series where we play weaker teams the last couple of years, and then don't do the damage we need to against them. Id be curious what our W/L was 21 and 22 vs sub .500 teams.

Thanks. That was quick .690 ball. Thats pretty solid no? Think .690 stacks up well with other top winning % teams?

Man, did we own the BoSox in '22. Forgot about that.
