Meh. If you take ticket prices as a percentage of the city's housing/rental costs, I'm sure the Jays come out as one of the best deals in the MLB. The team is just testing what the market will bear. Time and time again, people in the GTA will complain about everything being too expensive. Costs being out of control. But won't do anything about it like move to somewhere cheaper in order to alleviate some of those demand pressures pushing up the prices. Someone will pay the asking price. Most likely those who made $800,000 in paper capital gains on their houses purchased 20 years ago.

"that better include food"

lol what a f***ing Karen comment

if I am spending $205 for a ticket that better include a $5 hot dog!

Another thing I'll add in. This team is spending money. It's not like Harold Ballard who cheaped out on the roster then jacked up the price of tickets. If they want to charge $200 for the new seats to offset a tiny bit of that cost (and be incentivized to continue to spend money to put a competitive product on the field) more power to them. I hope those seats are consistently sold out, filled with Boomers and Bay Street finance bros.

And are they really that overpriced if you consider it like a luxury box type thing. You're front row in the outfield, with room to walk around. It looks like the section extends above the bullpen as well, which seems to be where the bench seating is.

As much as I like Manoah, he seems like the next Stroman in terms of personality.

They are both outspoken on Twitter for sure but Manoah isn't nearly as annoying for me as Stroman was. Stroman was constantly self promoting and pumping his own tires, and was a giant hypocrite to boot. When criticized on Twitter he would claim that it didn't bother him in the slightest but then proceed to block people for anything and everything. Manoah has confidence bordering on cockiness, but you can see how he is the ultimate team player in how he interacts with his teammates, celebrates their accomplishments etc. Stroman was reported to have feuded with his teammates on more than one occasion. Manoah is respectful with the media whereas Stroman would blow up at a reporter for asking a perfectly reasonable question.

I'm obviously not around these guys personally but Manoah seems confident yet respectful of people in general, whereas Stroman displays a lot of narcissistic traits. Manoah can certainly rub the opposition the wrong way with how he carries himself on the field at times, but I think he's starting to tame that down a bit as he gains more experience and general maturity.

I guess they're trying to make that Mezzanine seating area next to the bullpen like a Green Monster area in terms of ticket prices.

As long as you have a guaranteed seat like a bar chair and that area is closed off to everyone else in the ballpark, I guess it's a cool and different experience. If it's just standing room only, not a fan.

In terms of sporting events in Canada or just the GTA, the Blue Jays ticket prices are still very fair, affordable and less expensive in comparison to teams like the Leafs and Raptors or heck even a concert. What will set you back is the cost at the concession stands, which are crazy expensive. That's at every venue - Rogers Centre, BMO Field, Scotia Arena, movie theatres etc.

Not sure the Jays are the best deal in the MLB but overall baseball isn't crazy expensive like the NFL down in the US or hockey up here. As well with 81 home games, not every game will be a huge sellout so you can even snap up some good seats below cost like during a weeknight in April/May. Also, depends on the opponent, date of game, giveaway, weather etc., that factor into ticket demand.

The thing with these ticket prices is... if you want to attend a game in person and not spend a lot, you can still sit in the 500s for like $20.

You cannot say that about the other sports. Last I checked, even with the Raptors being s*** this year, upper bowl tickets were like $70

Yeah this is basically a box/group rental area.

You can’t just buy single seats, it says 50 tix minimum purchase. It’ll be for work/corporate groups mainly

Manoah seems to be really well liked by teammates. Not sure you could say the same for Stroman.

I wonder if it will be like the Chop House in right field in Atlanta?

I was there this past September, there is a bar rail with a stool and there are phone chargers and cupholders that keep your drink cold etc. Pretty sweet spot, and similarly priced.

Seems like they (Jays) straight up ripped off several different sections from other parks, and that's not a bad thing.

Recker should double down and raise his profile by calling these guys fat or in Stroman's case too short. I didn't even know who Recker was until this. Although MLB network might not want spicy takes.

I personally think Recker should be fired for his disgusting fat shaming of athletes. He’s probably a racist too. Better to just fire him now before he does more damage to the MLB Network brand.

I already started an online petition to get him removed from the MLB Network.
