Hutch is a nice depth signing for sure. Let's hope we don't see him make any starts at the MLB level haha, but if you need him for 2-3 starts or some washup innings out of the pen, not bad.

Blue Jays should bring Daniel Norris on a MiLB contract.

I heard from Facebook that they apparently threw out all the old 500s seats…

Shame. I would have been willing to buy a few just for a cool fixture in the basement/man cave

I have a seat from Exhibition Stadium. It's one of those "one day, I'll use it" kinda things that I've had for almost 25 years now :P

Lol that’s cool. But yeah its definitely not practical but something cool to have. You’d have to figure out some way to bolt it to the wall or build some kind of block to anchor the seats in.

I bought 4 Grey seats (similar to 500 section) from Maple Leaf Gardens Not when they moved to Air Canada Center but when They tore out 600 to make room for luxury suites back in 1989. You had to pay $50 for each. They sat around for a few years then I finally reinforced the wall in the basement and bolted them to the wall side by side. I placed a small ledge in front of the seats to act as a place to put your drink and we would watch the games from them. If someone had to grab another drink, we all had to stand to let them out. It was pretty cool. I sold them a few years later for $1000 each to a guy from Boston. I needed cash because I was buying a cottage.

Chad Pinder would probably be dirt cheap. His numbers cratered out last year and I don't know if that was due to injury or what but he hit the ball pretty damn hard prior to last year. 118 wRC+ against lefties in his career.

He can play the infield and a corner OF spot, but not sure he does any of it well. But for the 26th man he'd probably do the trick.

Pinder, my boy!

haven't seen his splits, but he seems like the type that would be a good 26th man.

Update: batted about .264 vs southpaws, .220 vs righties. Seems to be adequate. Minimal wage.

Seems like an MiLB signing with an invite at best...

Pinder on a MiLB deal would be nice. A 4th outfielder like Pollock who can mash LHP would have been sweet but would have cost $7 million or more. Not sure the Jays want to fork out that cash on a 4th outfielder and go over the luxury tax.

Other guys who could be had on MiLB deals include Monte Harrison.

Wow that's interesting.

Someone brought him up weeks ago, asking if he could play the OF. My assumption was heck no at his age, after the leg issues.

Great hitter though.

The physical has been completed, and Belt is back at full health after knee surgery.

Haha that was me!

The Belt signing is a little confusing, but maybe the Jays are just protecting against injury. This allows us to lose a couple of our good bats, and still have an above average lineup. We have a backup plan for every position, this is a deep team.

Yeah it's nice to see the Blue Jays have all their bases covered when it comes to their lineup. This was an issue earlier on last season when guys were going on the IL, which set the team back a bit in the standings. They at least can roll out an above average lineup and fielders now if one or two bats misses 3-4 weeks.

I'm a little surprised we're this deep into the off season with only Mayza as a left handed bullpen arm.

Another lefty would be nice down in the pen.

Jays should sign Danny Duffy as a No. 5 starter/multiple inning reliever.

Mattingly gone before he even steps foot in Canada.

Mattingly's bench coach role with the Blue Jays won't be impacted.

Nashville would be a great spot for an expansion team. Such an awesome city!
