Show Hey Verified Member Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Enjoy LA or New York Sasaki All marquee players must only play on teams that are 1) wealthy, and 2) "storied". It's good for baseball.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Dare you say who JaysBlue?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I'm saving up my waiver priority for this dude in the LOD, DDL and BORED! Doesn't work that way anymore
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Enjoy LA or New York Sasaki Yeah I f***ing hate this s***.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I'm saving up my waiver priority for this dude in the LOD, DDL and BORED! Wouldn’t he be part of the draft?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Wouldn’t he be part of the draft? If he is signed by the time the draft starts then yes
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Yup. He'll be a Yankee or join Ohtani with the Dodgers. A bunch of insufferable dickbags in the media will gush about how great it is for baseball Outside shot for Boston too, maybe.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Knowing what we now know, yeah we kind of didn't have a chance. Heading into this everyone thought he would get 500-600M. Jays probably had a very competitive offer within the top end of that range. Maybe even a bit higher. We didn't know what the Dodgers would do. Maybe 615 mil would scare them off? It was certainly feasible and then when reporters started reporting that we actually did it seemed like it was a real possibility. But the Dodgers blew it out of the water with a 700M bid. But we didn't know they were going to do that until the very end. I said he'd sign for 600+ with pitching incentives to bring it to 700, can I spike dat ball? Had no idea of deferrals though,
philly30 Verified Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 There needs to be some sort of international draft instead of this nonsense
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 There needs to be some sort of international draft instead of this nonsense Being able to choose where they play is probably a big part of these guys coming over. It’s not Cuba
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 If Guerrero had panned out to be a 60 home run king, people would be keeping their lips zipped on this. The Japanese guys are essentially free agents. If you put them in the draft like the American college kids so that they have to wait 6+ years before a big pay day, they might as well just stay home.

Yeah but Sasaki won’t be like the usual postings we see since he would be under 25. He’d be subject to the annual international spending caps.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Seth Lugo to the Royals - 3/45
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Good deal, I think Lugo is pretty good and he will earn that and then some.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Good fastball on Lugo...good command...I doubt he gets over 100ip though. He's got Sal though so you never know
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) Seth Lugo to the Royals - 3/45 Nice pick up by the Royals. Lugo was sneaky good last year and should excel at Kaufman as he did at Petco. Edited December 12, 2023 by Carlos Danger
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 That Division is really attrocious he should excel. Could see Stro going there to work with Sal.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 The Giants have signed Jung Hoo Lee according to Heyman for 6/113 with an opt out after 4.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 There was a comment on a Hoo Lee article on MLBTR some weeks ago saying the guys numbers were completely garbage on pitches 93+MPH. Anyone know where to find them?

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 The Giants have signed Jung Hoo Lee according to Heyman for 6/113 with an opt out after 4. Wow big money
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 The Giants have signed Jung Hoo Lee according to Heyman for 6/113 with an opt out after 4. Holy crap, that's stupid money for Lee, have em'. Is it a team opt out, lol.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 With the Giants signing Lee to a big contract, I doubt they'd still be in on Bellinger. That leaves the Jays and the Cubs. I can't think of any other team with the resources to get it done that would be interested in Belly at this point. Maybe the Rockies swoop in for some reason. Not sure what Chapman's market is at this point. Third base is still a need for the Giants so I could see them going after him, but beyond them and the Jays, it gets a bit blurry.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 That's bad on the Jays part
