Enjoy LA or New York Sasaki

All marquee players must only play on teams that are 1) wealthy, and 2) "storied". It's good for baseball.

Yup. He'll be a Yankee or join Ohtani with the Dodgers. A bunch of insufferable dickbags in the media will gush about how great it is for baseball

Outside shot for Boston too, maybe.

Knowing what we now know, yeah we kind of didn't have a chance. Heading into this everyone thought he would get 500-600M. Jays probably had a very competitive offer within the top end of that range. Maybe even a bit higher.

We didn't know what the Dodgers would do. Maybe 615 mil would scare them off? It was certainly feasible and then when reporters started reporting that we actually did it seemed like it was a real possibility.

But the Dodgers blew it out of the water with a 700M bid. But we didn't know they were going to do that until the very end.

I said he'd sign for 600+ with pitching incentives to bring it to 700, can I spike dat ball? Had no idea of deferrals though, :P

There needs to be some sort of international draft instead of this nonsense

Being able to choose where they play is probably a big part of these guys coming over. It’s not Cuba

If Guerrero had panned out to be a 60 home run king, people would be keeping their lips zipped on this. The Japanese guys are essentially free agents. If you put them in the draft like the American college kids so that they have to wait 6+ years before a big pay day, they might as well just stay home.

Yeah but Sasaki won’t be like the usual postings we see since he would be under 25. He’d be subject to the annual international spending caps.

Seth Lugo to the Royals - 3/45

Nice pick up by the Royals. Lugo was sneaky good last year and should excel at Kaufman as he did at Petco.

There was a comment on a Hoo Lee article on MLBTR some weeks ago saying the guys numbers were completely garbage on pitches 93+MPH. Anyone know where to find them?

Holy crap, that's stupid money for Lee, have em'. Is it a team opt out, lol.

With the Giants signing Lee to a big contract, I doubt they'd still be in on Bellinger. That leaves the Jays and the Cubs. I can't think of any other team with the resources to get it done that would be interested in Belly at this point. Maybe the Rockies swoop in for some reason.

Not sure what Chapman's market is at this point. Third base is still a need for the Giants so I could see them going after him, but beyond them and the Jays, it gets a bit blurry.
