Unless I'm forgetting someone J Ram is going to go down as the greatest player in franchise history.

Seems like he'll end up playing his entire career in Cleveland after signing a team friendly deal. He's on track to make the HoF and should have decent enough team success as they seem like an okay enough org in a crap division.

And they'll be playing highlights of that punch until the end of time.

Tim Anderson on the other hand...yikes

Robin Ventura was an otherwise likable guy and was having a Hall of Fame career with 57 WAR through his age 35 season until injuries forced him to retire just a year later.

But no one remember anything about him other than getting whooped by Nolan Ryan.

Looks like the Mariners are going on their typical late Season run where they come out of nowhere after 3 months of mediocrity

2021 was a fluke, but in 2022 and 23 they look like a legit 90 win team by run differential.

Their offence looks terrible because they hit .230 but they play in a terrible hitters park, and have been top 3 in walks last 2 years so it works out to be an average hitting team and good pitching team.

I don't know much about Miller and Woo so I am sure "somebody" (cough) could come up with an argument that Miller and Woo are both terrible 4.50 ERA pitchers, Julio Rodriquez is the worst ever super star, Cal Rayleigh is the worst clean up hitter ever and Seattle is really a true talent 75 win team that will crash soon enough.

J-Rod's base running error might cost the M's a W, we'll see.

Can’t sleep on the Ms. They are 9-2 last 11 I think. Same as last year they went on late roll. The Angels are such a bad organization right now. Virtually no chance.

Has this absolute gem been posted?

Awesome. I’m old enough to remember that actual Cosell call “Down goes Frazier. Down goes Frazier!” against Foreman.

Don't forget Joe Bowen's, "down goes brown!", famous leaf call.

That's mostly why I was watching, that staff is elite. Not looking good for the unicorn and co.

Mariners are just going to be annoying again I know it. They have the pitching to go on a run. And even though there offense is dog s*** they are timely as f***.

Also I don't know if I should be laughing at the Angles or feel sorry for them. Can I really fault them for trying to win for one last ditch effort to keep Ohtani. But everything about that decision including Mike Trout's injury seemed extremely ill-advised. I am conflicted.

2 players on that list are great. The other 2 are dog s***.

Ya. And the Orioles can f*** right off any time now. 2-0 W. GTFO.

I'd sell my soul to swap organizations with the Orioles.

This contract is turning out to be a disaster early on here...

Slated for MRI

Rodon (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Rodon was removed from Sunday's start against the Astros due to left hamstring tightness, and the Yankees aren't yet sure whether he'll require a trip to the injured list. He described his exit as precautionary, but his imaging should help offer clarity on the severity of the injury, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the team update his status afterward. If Rodon is unable to make his next turn through the rotation, Luis Severino is a strong candidate to remain a starter.

Is anyone surprised by this? I figure they get 1 or 2 healthy years max out of that contract. I can't believe he got a 6 year deal.

Yeah, the term was suicide... 162M, lol @ the Yankees.

Hey at least there's a potential silver lining that Severino can stay in the rotation. :P

I hate long term deals for arms. Especially for a guy like Rodon with all his IL history. Dumb. Severino melting down at same time.

The 5/110 for Gausman may be a bit rough still the last 1 or 2. but it made sense. Its all about the maintaining split and the V combo.

Berrios 7/131 stung last year and may more at the back end but at least he has bounced back in '23 and fingers crossed he has always been durable.

Kikuchi 3/36 looked bad but tolerable last year and this year more than full value.

Hound 3/62 has been full value. He is getting older so not sure on the last 2 but at least its only a 3 yr deal.

So many were in a rush to lock up Manoah long term, but quite a few posters knew his stuff was a bit overrated & hyped.

If a win is worth roughly 10M/season then Gausman should hit his contract value roughly this season or very early next year.

Even Berrios should work out as a fair market deal when it’s all said and done. I don’t think we break even on Bassitt though but it was a needed signings for stability.

The Free Agent $8.5/WIN 2022 cost is fact. Long term deals when the bill is due and they are no longer performing prejudices your current roster with the legacy cost.

This reality just reinforces the need to develop more SP and pen arms in house and not have to buy an entire FA rotation, given the risks, like 1.5 years of 4 of effective Ryu etc. What we have now is not the sustainable model that I want to see.

Berrios and Gausman deals are looking like sweetheart contracts. Even Kikuchi is fine at 12M per
