John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2023 Author Posted May 15, 2023 Is that a typo? Are you missing a digit? Yeah, it’s like 13.1
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 He wasn’t available? Weren’t there rumours that the Jays were targeting Nootbar for one of their catchers but all the Cards would offer was Helsley for Jansen or something like that? Ya we wanted Nootbar. Cards said no, the best they will do for a catcher was Helsley. Jays said no to that and went for the next option in Varsho.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 In hindsight it would be so sick to have Nootbar right now.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Even after losing 4 straight the Braves maintain a decent lead in the division and are the only team in the NL East over 500 Mets and Philiies are just spinning their wheels

Weren’t there rumours that the Jays were targeting Nootbar for one of their catchers but all the Cards would offer was Helsley for Jansen or something like that? Maybe, but everyone has a price. If it was say Moreno and Manoah, maybe that could’ve done it. It’s admittedly a silly exercise. But it’s like Berrios, maybe if they added more to get Castillo etc We’re not getting paid seven figures to have foresight in this stuff, so it’s not totally unfair to judge in hindsight the people doing it as jobs. Think stocks

Phillies might contend for a Wildcard spot again, but that's it. Braves will easily win the division.

Think stocks I don't think Castillo was available to be traded for at the time when Berrios was acquired.

Braves will easily win the division. Mets payroll > $346,000,000 and fighting for a wildcard spot at best If the season ended today they don't make the post season Edited May 15, 2023 by G-Snarls
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Grayson probably going to get sent down. Not sure who would get the spot
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Brad Keller has 4 walks and 2 wild pitches and it's the second inning
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Now he just hit Machado. And walked Soto. Dude is going to be DFA'd after this.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Prob nice fit for your Tampa Bay BORED operation I would never debase myself by rostering Brad Keller in fantasy baseball.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Does Wacha come back out? C'mon it's a no hitter.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Does Wacha come back out? C'mon it's a no hitter. He's at 101. They might pull him possibly. In the game today, they baby starters way too much. I would let him go out there in the 8th. 3-0 lead, so still alright and he could probably go to 115-120 pitches. Have the BP ready. If he gives up a hit or walk, then bring in some one.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Arizona up 5-1 against Oakland. Always bet any solid team run line against the A's. You'll win more than lose. Royals as well, but cashed out of the bet since its only 3-0
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Now he just hit Machado. And walked Soto. Dude is going to be DFA'd after this. We should pick him up. He's probably an upgrade over Manoah at this point!

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Tough to get behind a team that is this bad, and moving from your city in a couple years.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 Who is more to blame? City of Oakland for not getting a new stadium done? Billy Beane for decimating the team with s***** trades for 7 years? The owner for being a cheap ass and making it hard for the GM and city?
