John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Will Smith signed with the Rangers, he was a lefty I hoped the Jays picked up. Well, depends what he signed for of course. $1.5MM in guaranteed money, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post Up to $2.5MM in bonus money is also available, related to incentives based on total appearances and games finished, indicating that Smith might indeed get some consideration for a closer role. Rosenthal just signed also, going to the Tigers on a minor league deal. 2 million if he makes the big club and up to 2 million more in incentives.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Perhaps after Bauer, they thought maybe we should actually vet the accusers first
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Yet rather ironically, all things considered, the Twins are still ahead in the trade lol

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 He’s 20, so probably not for another 5 years. So another 1500 innings pitched.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 When is getting posted? I believe it's 2027 when he's eligible.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 Glad to at least see he was back up on his feet, frig that's scary. "Oh I hope that was mostly helmet OH NO that's blood...."
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 "Oh I hope that was mostly helmet OH NO that's blood...." He's in the hospital being monitored for a Conky, in good spirits considering he was smashed in the face.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 I busted my jaw taking a pitch to the face. Probably like an 83 mph heater. Couldn’t imagine taking a major league fastball
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 He's in the hospital being monitored for a Conky, in good spirits considering he was smashed in the face. Maybe Busch has voodoo dolls

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Anyone watch Senga's first start today? BA's take... Kodai Senga, RHP, Mets: Senga made his North American debut in Jupiter on Sunday against the Cardinals. He struggled with command throughout the start but showed off an impressive pitch mix. Senga sat 95-97 mph on his fastball, touching 98 mph at peak, and mixed in his notorious “ghost” forkball, a sweeper in the low 80s and a high-80s cutter. He allowed one run over two innings, struck out two and walked two.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Damn. I had never even thought about what they make turf from
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Damn it. Just looked and Jo Adell can’t even hit in ST anymore
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2023 Author Posted March 8, 2023 Ya know what’s interesting, Cal Ripken Jr never missed a game for nearly 17 season straight, but also never played 162 games in a season for more than 3 seasons in a row.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Damn. I had never even thought about what they make turf from Go read the stats on Soccer goalkeepers. They make up 10% of a team but of soccer players who have been diagnosed with cancer over two thirds are goalies. In the sport and rec world it was pretty well known and there were many international articles, but it was swept under the rug pretty quickly.
