A clock has no business being in a baseball game... NONE. They are ruining the game for the sake of shortening the time it takes to play it. Rush rush rush.... how f***ing stupid is that. And two throws only to first base, another stupid rule.

The clock is amazing. But I expect some adjustment where they lengthen it with 2 outs or in the 9th inning or something like that.

They all end up exactly in the middle of the ocean? Somehow I doubt the science behind this. You would think at least one of them is marginally off-center...but it's on twitter so it must be true.

Essentially comes out to 16 years, $500m for Machado counting the first 5 years of his original deal plus this extension. Crazy.

Yeah, they’ve gone well past “dipping their toes in the water” at this point. It’s a good story for baseball though bc it wasn’t too long ago that they were only a couple steps up from Tampa in terms of being a baseball city. Most importantly here, they’re an organization who has been one of better teams churning out prospects. So they have 4-5 year window to rebuild the farm while their team is competing.

I wouldn’t count it out. I think you let it ride these two years and see how it all works out. I know it turns a lot of people off but I don’t have an issue with it.

 

It’s like a super rich guy owning a restaurant and he keeps importing all these world class chefs and other staff and his accountants and business people are like “you can’t make money like this” and he’s like “so what, I want the best restaurant in town”… and all the other restaurants in town are pissed off because they’re trying to run a business.

Steve Cohen has by far the best deli

 

Once you’re a billionaire, like how many houses can you have until it’s stupid (unless for investment), how many cars, etc. you can lose $100m-200m/yr for a decade and actually still come out even with franchise value rising. And you have a plaything in the meantime. I know people will hate Cohen and such, but it’s definitely something I would do

NYM is less cool than SD in terms of SD not being a big market. However, the Mets have been such a joke for so long, it’s good for the game to see them revitalized.

This. 9th inning and extras they need to eliminate the rule or something of the sort. A real game should never end like that. Imagine if a playoff game!!? Hell no!!!

We will soon too, unless Rogers gets cold feet and half the core end up in pinstripes, Texas, or LA.

Possibly. Hard to say what a 31 yr old Machado gets on the opeb market. Market was crazy this off season.

 

10/300 a pretty safe bet. Not a deep class, position teams could use
