thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Heads need to f***ing roll after that debacle. Nothing else to say.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 This team was too cocky with nothing to back it up lmao maybe they should have felt a little "pressure" and not just thought it was something for tires. Maybe then they would've taken things a little more seriously and not piss away a 7 run lead.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Two massive blunders starting manoah yesterday and taking out kausman and putting in mayza. It's all on Schneider
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Maybe between players (Pitching/hitting)...but not with the coach and I doubt any at all Yeah that’s what I mean. Players being fed up with the bullpen guys

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 f***in move man. The move that destroyed this game.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Author Posted October 9, 2022 I dunno, Schneider has a connection with the group and I'd like him to have a full season at the helm. He should be given the chance to learn from his mistakes Yeah. Everyone is angry right now. Not the time to make judgements. Schneider should be back, but he is green.
EnglishJay Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 I thought yesterday was a let down, but jfc today has taken the biscuit. Are we cursed? Thank you to all Blue Jays MB contributors, see you next season.
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Everyone here is my nemesis.. Captain Hindsight. Everyone was comfortable with Romano, Garcia, Richards, Cimber, Pearson, and Mayza at the start of the season. Did we think it was the best bullpen? No, but we thought it was pretty solid given the data we had at the end of 2021. Other than Richards and Pearson, they were all solid to pretty good in 2022 as well. Berrios extension was widely praised when it happened. We all loved the Gausman signing. Kikuchi signing looked like it could go either way at the time. Bass and Pop looked like good acquisitions for the BP at the trade deadline. People asking for Atkin's head are exercising 20/20 hindsight.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Siddall and Joseph blasting Schneider rightly so. Taking out Kevin for Mayza was the dumbest f***ing move ever. I feel like Schneider felt "ahh well it's 8-1, this game's locked up anyways". He probably assumed it was an inconsequential move. And you know these managers, they're like robots whenever a pitch count starts nearing 100 regardless of how well the pitcher is pitching. It's very ignorant. Guys like Nolan Ryan threw 200 pitches at times.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 I legit think he forgot Santana was a switch hitter. nah post-game interview he said "we wanted him batting from the right side"
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Where is the offseason roster thread, BTS?
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 f***in move man. The move that destroyed this game. Inexcusable really. Especially when he did the same thing vs Judge last week
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 This season turns out that Vlad was not a big game player. All he did for the postseason series was nothing but cheerleading.
philly30 Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 The entire disaster goes back to taking Gausman out , that was the iceberg that sunk the ship
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 nah post-game interview he said "we wanted him batting from the right side" That's just weird because doesn't Santana have better career numbers from the left side? I assume their analytics say Mayza vs Santana is a good option.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 That's just weird because doesn't Santana have better career numbers from the left side? I assume their analytics say Mayza vs Santana is a good option. I posted his splits up there in an image. IF the analytics thought it was a good option, those guys need to be fired. 162 games showed Mayza cannot pitch to righties and 162 games showed Santana blasts lefties. What the f*** is so special about Mayza-Santana matchup that it'll overrule 162 games of stats even if we assume they never faced each other

I have never felt this bullpen was good enough to win in the playoffs. Never. I was okay with Berrios, loved Gausman, I didn't mind the Kikuchi risk, Bass and Pop were decent acquisitions, but at the end of the day, after the bullpen blew our chances to make the playoffs last year, it remained mediocre this year (by contender standards) and ultimately collapsed in the place where mediocre bullpens always collapse: the postseason. Starting depth was also not addressed and was a struggle all season long. Both the starter situation and the bullpen situation were know issues and predictable problems and complete failures of the FO.

goldbug103 Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 The Corbin Carroll one looks interesting.
Oh Canada Verified Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Everytime I start getting depressed I remember what Ukrainians are feeling, what Russian conscripted men are feeling, and that we might be at the brink of nuclear war. Then I realize .. it is not a big deal to lose a baseball game in a heart breaking fashion. Let's move on. Thanks for bringing it all into perspective Captain Obvious
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 The Corbin Carroll one looks interesting. Not happening; AZ is not breaking up their all-star/MVP OF setup.

I have a solid history of hating our pitching dev and being told to shut up about it. Which is fair because i was repeating myself. I dont even think you need to fire atkins. Just overhaul pitching dev. Hire from rays, dodgers, guardians, yankees, mariners

I know this might be a politically incorrect thing to say, but is Vladdy even trying to learn English? After all these years he still uses a translator. If he's going to be a team leader, he should have a good grasp of the English language.
