Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Time to close out this season and get the hell out of Baltimore.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Casey Lawrence was f***ING BORN for today. Let the big dog eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 tfw you are going to throw 150 pitches on October 5th while nobody else on your team even tries
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 why is Tapia taking pitches swing swing swing
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 bunt into a double play on purpose
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 perfect 2 outs in one swing 52 more to go this game
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Tapia lol. Hope he doesn’t play in the playoffs
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Tapia lol. Hope he doesn’t play in the playoffs Be prepared for disappointment. I guarantee he's going to do something inexcuseably dumb to cost the Jays something. Maybe not the series, but.. it will be horrendous. Unfortunately it would just be too rude to DFA him after game 162
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Vladdy telling Schneider to pencil him in the lineup both games so that he can get to the 100 rbi mark.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Zimmer might be the worst hitter I have seen in the big leagues
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 JBJ made that catch look routine.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Zimmer might be the worst hitter I have seen in the big leagues Its just weird, while he's never been a good hitter, hovering around 90 wRC+ ... this season is just comically bad with the bat. his .185 babip also hilariously gross. Cant really judge him too harshly on 100 PAs, but ... yeah, he's the klind of guy who's batting practice should be nothing but bunt drills.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Zimmer might be the worst hitter I have seen in the big leagues Not that he was a stud before, but he had a wRC+ of 87 and 89 in 2020 and 2021. It would appear the highly inconsistent playing time has totally f***ed him at the dish this year unfortunately. But - as long as he keeps his head down and his mouth shut and keeps working hard - he'll hang around the big leagues. And he could prove valuable in the playoffs.

As weird as it sounds, I'd rather have Zimmer on the roster in the playoffs than Tapia.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Why any pticher is worried about a guy on base with the nearly automatic strikeout in Zimmer at the plate is pretty funny.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Iunno if that was smart considering Zimmer starts the next inning lol

He's a plate adjustment away from being a star.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 It's actually amazing how terrible Zimmer is at the plate.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Game is going perfectly. 70 minutes and half done already. Looks like Toronto is using all the good RP that need work off the bat. They'll probably have Kikuchi finish out this game then let Lawrence and White split the second game?

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Not sure I would have used Romano today since he’s likely to pitch in every WC game (so at least 2, if not 3 straight days), but I guess they want to use every reliever to keep them consistent and avoid too many days off in a row.

Okay maybe White for 5 innings to wrap game 1 up then Lawrence + Kikuchi?

Yeah I think too many days off is legit bad for some of these guys at this point in the year. Romano should be able to pitch every game if needed.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 wow Moreno! forfeit the game, they said....
