So an IF should never run back on a pop up?

Did you see Vlad run full out and make an over the shoulder catch earlier?

C'mon Jim, please don't move the posts.

Bo let up slightly because he knew the outfielders were coming. I completely understand him not wanting to go all out with an outfielder potentially coming in directly in line with him hard. That's the kind of play where someone could get damn near decapitated.

Jim hasn't played ball, he's an idiot.

No I think at this point we’ve seen enough to say he shouldn’t be playing SS fulltime. A backup game every now and then sure.

This, right here is anger post.

The lack of hustling and poor decision making on the bases has been a problem the entire season for the Jays. Don't expect anything different, we will be experiencing more of it.

I feel like that’s normally something that gets worked on during spring training. We’ll see if it changes next year with a new manager handling things.

You mean Schneider or a new guy?

Exactly! There were times during the season I felt players should have been pulled in the middle of games to embarrass them for some of the stupid mistakes they make, but we baby them instead and then we expect them to change?

You can't change them now that it "really matters". We've allowed these things to become habitual.

It will be easier for Schneider to set the tone from Spring training next year. It will be his show. Who knows what kind of drills Bongos was running. I’m sure Schneider will set a different tone next year. As for this year, well….

What drills do these players need to do not to be stupid? These guys just do dumb s***, s*** that beyond the age of seven you should understand not to do. They should be embarrassed as professionals.

Does Schneider have to teach them how to wipe after they poop also?

Can run all the drills in the world, the teams just has a decent sized collection of low baseball IQ players. Drills only go so far. Drills will help the players that have brains and are capable of learning, but it won't save the dummies.

There is something weird going on with their judgement. I mean Vlad hustled like hell to just beat out his "infield hit" that was HUGE Monday. So then on Tuesday he becomes lazy? It's not laziness, they just judged the ball off their own bats wrong. It's something mental but not just "hustle".

They can't quite judge the ball off their own bats. Sometimes they think it's going 50 feet farther then it is.

They can't judge pitches out of the zone. They swing at crazy pitches not because they think it's a good idea but they can't judge.

If they could judge things properly they'd take borderline pitches, they'd hustle on every play.

I mean speaking of Judge we all watched his at bats last night. Insane plate discipline. He has a 15 degree launch angle because he has elite pitch recognition and doesn't swing at the pitches that are auto-ground balls. He is also OK with 170 strike outs.

Vlad's goal next year should be 110 walks, 160 strikeout, hustle on every non-430 foot ball.
