JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Here comes our slugger.... T A P I A
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 Feel like a little more hustle from Springer there woulda scored a run. Edit: Yup.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Here comes our slugger.... T A P I A Can he atone for that E? Let us all bow our heads...
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Here comes our slugger.... T A P I A Hey, his name looks very powerful with the letters spread like that.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 dont feel bad. we needed to trade him for two relievers to miss the playoffs by a game. There are like 70 rounds in a baseball draft. Why have we struggled so damn much to develop major league pitchers? Romano/Manoah and a bunch of turds for the most part after that.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Feel like a little more hustle from Springer there woulda scored a run. Edit: Yup. I don't understand the not giving 100% all the time attitude.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Give Springer a break... he only gets 1 day off and another DH day per week. Dude shouldn't be expected to run the bases hard as well. /sarcasm
Big BlueJay Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Send Kukuchi down until he learns how to throw the ball over the plate there's no excuse for this at this level
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I just looked up Tellez's stats and it makes me sad With the way Montoyo uses the DH, I don't think Tellez would have panned out here. The Jays basically need to trade for Ian Happ (or someone who can play a bunch of positions + being able to hit) to get the most of the DH spot the way it is used currently. The org seems to want to use DH to rest regulars, and that hurts when they have DH's on the roster.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 This regime are in the minus in trade value since they arrived, but by how much I wonder. Hands down we won the "five tool" Derek Fisher trade sweepstakes. Actually, he had 6 tools because he almost could catch a ball with his head.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I was neutral with Grichuk but he's a lot better than Tapia as part of the top four outfielders. How much money did we really save? $3M this year? I don't know about next year's numbers in savings but I'm sure Ross will throw it Tapia's way. We also got Pinto - lottery ticket Randel's been worth -0.3 WAR over the past 750 PA's....he f***ing sucks, let it go.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 This regime are in the minus in trade value since they arrived, but by how much I wonder. I would have thought they were plus just from the teo and Espinal trades. Most of the others were either bad timing (they waited too long prob on owner mandate) or marginal one way or the other.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I don't get the quick leash on Thorton but Richards struggling and pitching more?
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Does richards have options? He could use a few weeks to figure it out.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Richards hasn't done anything this year to deserve high-leverage
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Completely trash management and trash pitcher.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Author Posted June 8, 2022 Thornton gets 23 pitches and Richards gets 36. f***ing gimps running this team.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Richards hasn't done anything this year to deserve high-leverage He actually hasn't done anything this year to deserve much more than the Borucki treatment.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Thornton gets 23 pitches and Richards gets 36. f***ing gimps running this team. Just one oompa loompa
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I’d pull Thornton early as well. He’s not someone I trust at all. Richards just needs to come in and do his job. He has to use his pitchers. He can’t just decide to never use richards. The problem im seeing is that according to fangraphs he doesn’t have options. That’s could be big.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 The long man out of the pen pulled after 23 pitches (+ being really effective), replaced by a 1 inning reliever who sucks and is allowed to go up to 36 pitches because Charlie wanted to squeeze another (bad) inning out of him. Letting the long man who was actually effective pitch deeper into the game was probably too complicated.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 The first 2 games were too easy, so of course we get this stinker today.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 damn I thought that was the final death blow
