I know there is some benefit to having an "open" DH spot, but I've never wanted a fat immobile DH on the roster more than I do now knowing that the DH spot is just going to be used to get Tapia into the lineup.

I don't like Tapia but he is 4 for 10 with 2 walks in his last 4 games and he is a better fielder than Teo. So there's that.

Get used to seeing a lot of Tapia this year. Ross Atkins will give him every opportunity to prove the Grichuk trade worthy. Sad but true.
