I've barely been able to watch either of the games due to taking clients to Rockies Opening Day events. Has Buntoyo done anything stupid yet?

Not really

Won his challenge

I think he pulled the starters at the right time both games

Bullpen guys making him look good too

Nothing bad really but if we’re nitpicking…

- Kept Saucedo in the game too long yesterday

- Only let Stripling pitch 1 inning yesterday even though he looked good and threw 8 pitches

- Tapia bunted with a runner on first and no outs today (not sure if Charlie called it)

- Already seems to have some infatuation with Yimi Garcia, he pitched both games.

I guess he only seems bad when we’re losing.

well you have to see the fact that he struggled today with 8 hits

luckily he only allowed 3 runs but his velocity

can be batting practice ball if he doesnt increase velocity

His avg 4 seam was 94.6 in 21 his best season. Down 1 mph from 20. His V was fine today. FB location wasn't his best, but the splitter was wicked. First outing. V will probably tick up a bit. He will be the guy we bought this season.

Tapia should just bunt with a guy on first lol

Tapiout should not be in the lineup. Can't wait to see Zimmer.

Anybody complaining or dropping "I told you so's" about a starting pitcher after one f***ing start following a shortened spring training needs to have the s*** slapped out of them by Willy boy.

Shut the f*** up, it's one start.

Ban this moron, long overdue.

You really think Zimmer is a better bat than Tapia?

Career wRC+ is 78 for Tapia and 79 for Zimmer. Tapia projects for about an 83 wRC+ and Zimmer projects for about 86. Neither is particularly talented at hitting.

Yeah that’s what im getting at… not sure why he’d be excited for Zimmer over Tapia

They’re both likely DFA candidates. The only thing awful about RG as a 4th OF was the salary…and the playing time he got but looks like that’ll continue with even worse people

It's all about the potential upside here. Zimmer has tools for days, elite speed, elite defence, plus baserunning and a bat with a lot of thunder in it. The chase rate is very good as well at 75% percentile. His problem has been making contact often enough to fully leverage his 91st percentile max exit velocity and 75th percentile average exit velocity. If he can manage to improve his stikeout issues and simply put the bat on the ball more he'll benefit tremendously as he has the legs to run out a lot of infield hits.

Tapia is an interesting case in that he manages to put the bat on the ball most of the time but his contact is so weak that it almost completely saps his power potential. I don't know if there enough at bats available for either of these guys to really work things out at the major league level though.

My guess is that Zimmer and Espinal start on Sunday. Springer in the DH.

Bruh why the hell is Zimmer hitting 7th?

And I personally doubt he gets a start this soon, but I guess we’ll see.
