Interesting that Carlos Santana continues to stick around. His greatest strength was getting on base and he doesn’t even do that anymore. He still walks but doesn’t hit a lick lol. It’s actually incredible he could walk as much as he does and still post a low on base the last 2 seasons lol.

This has potential to be a sneaky good pickup for the Pirates. Santana fell victim to baseball's second highest negative xWOBA/WOBA differential of -.044 points. His xWOBA of .352 places him in the 88th percentile in MLB. As a left handed hitter he was shifted virtually all the time at 98.3%, so he likely stands to benefit a lot from the upcoming shift ban. Finally, his new home stadium of PNC Park has potential to give him a boost to his home run totals, and his expected home runs in Pittsburgh is tied for the highest in MLB with bandbox Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

What’s curious about that Spank-off? He’s the highest paid guy making $10m/year and it doesn’t seem like he going to the star that was once thought. Maybe pass the contract off to someone that would be willing to pay good assets for him, considering the defense and offensive upside. Get some guys without mlb deals

Yeah. Up’d his trade value. Do your hypothetical trades always need to be so vanilla? Anyways, I just said them trading KH would be less surprising than signing a vey meh veteran on the decline for 10-15% of their payroll.

Now that move was for futures. Be better.

Perhaps I’m a little bitter after trading for him, since its starting to appear he’ll be fantasy irrelevant

I don't think he's irrelevant yet, his Statcast page looks fine.

$8M on a one-year deal isn't bad. Not a fan of Clevinger, but if he's healthy there is some upside with him. Otherwise he's just a so/so No. 5 starter like we saw last season. Low K's, doesn't pitch deep into games, etc.

Any decent starter is probably going to be $12M-15M per. I could see Stripling getting $2/30 minimum.

Wow, nice spot for him. Lets see the $$$. Any guesses??

I’m thinking like 3/60 or something

We paid 3/36 for our 5th starter who was coming off being a turd in the 2nd half of his free agent season... just wanted to respond to your comment about there being worse ways with an precise example lol

I keep refreshing Twitter but all I'm seeing is Elon Musk ranting about Apple and posting pictures of the gun on his nightstand

Jose Abreu

Yordan Alvarez

Alex Bregman

I think you mean:

Altuve

Pena

Alvarez

Abreu

Yuli

Bregman

I don't see them keeping Pena is the two spot with Abreu there but who knows

No matter what it's an excellent lineup

Abreu is a nice addition to that lineup. Coming off a 4 WAR season despite not hitting for much power at all. He has increased his BB% the past two seasons which is nice to see.
