Has anyone read anything about what's going on with the projection systems? Both ZiPS and Steamer wRC+ projections seem like 10-20% too high across the board. Matt Carpenter has a 106 FGDC projection. Pillar 100. Tapia 91. Many AA and AAA prospects over 100.

 

These projections do not have the ability to take into account the greatly increased level of drag on the 2022 baseball. The early season baseball looks to have a greatly increased drag coefficient leading to results more closely resembling those of 2016. On top of that the incorporation of humidors in all MLB environments during the early colder months has likely led to a decrease in COR (co-efficient of restitution) which has a direct effect in lowering exit velocity off of the bat when weather is cold and dry as the baseball is heavier after spending time in the humidor. As temperature and humidity increases later in the season the humidors may actually increase the COR.

Seems like she just doesn't know the umpire discretion aspect for the runner on first

 

I'm pretty sure there is no umpire discretion for a normal ground rule double to award the runner on 1st Home. There's only discretion if it's a ground rule double because of fan interference reaching onto the field of play which isn't technically a ground rule double at all but people call a ground rule double but is really just the umpires discretion on all runners, which on a normal double the batter, or anyone on 2nd or 3rd is obvious so the discretion usually only comes up when deciding where the runner on 1st ends up.

 

She just seems completely unaware that a ground rule double exists, or didn't watch the play and assumed the runner will score easily.
