Seemed like he was a good guy who would have liked to come back to the Jays based on his comments.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Damn I really wanted Dickerson back, the market for Left handed bats is pretty much nothing. I don't think Conforto is a realistic option.

Ehjays Verified Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Wow surprised the Rays were in on Freeman $150 over 6, thats not like them.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Who needs defense? A third baseman that can't play third and two outfielders that can't play the outfield sounds like a recipe for success.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 100% confirmed that Correa turned down 10 years 275M from the Tigers He may soon wish he had taken it
jerb Verified Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Superstar SS Trevor Story choosing one of 4 teams soon. Giants, Red Sox and 2 others remain in mix. Prioritizing winning. Apparently considering a short-term positional move, if necessary.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 He's going to the Red Sox and will be a stud won't he? I think Bogaerts leaves after this year if they move him off of SS for Story.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 He's going to the Red Sox and will be a stud won't he? Yes Plesee go to Giants
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I think Bogaerts leaves after this year if they move him off of SS for Story. Well also where do they play Devers? Would they move eveyone to put Story at SS?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Well also where do they play Devers? Would they move eveyone to put Story at SS? Bogaerts to 2B I would assume. Hernandez is best utilized as a bench player anyways.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I think Story to 2B for 2022, if they sign him
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I think Story to 2B for 2022, if they sign him Yeah definitely Story for 2B, then next year he plays SS if Bogaerts leaves. Its even in the tweet, “considering a short term positional move if necessary”
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I think Story to 2B for 2022, if they sign him I haven't seen a ton of Story, but he seems like a plus defender, while Bogaerts is generally regarded as fringe average.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 The chance Booger moves to 2B is 0% Yeah it would be especially scummy for the Redsox to force him to play 2B in a walk year
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I haven't seen a ton of Story, but he seems like a plus defender, while Bogaerts is generally regarded as fringe average. I just don't think Boston is moving the incumbent over. Easier to sell the new guy on playing the new position. Like Semien here...
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I would characterize Bogearts more as AVERAGE anyway. Like, perfectly average.
lovemyjays Verified Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I can see the Jays being one of the mystery teams for Story. They'd sign him to a 1yr deal similar to what they did with Semien last season. Story saw the resurgence of Semien last season and what he was able to accomplish in one season with the Jays so that might convince him to sign here. He'll also have a legit shot at winning the pennant if he joins us. This would be Semien part 2.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I think Bogaerts leaves after this year if they move him off of SS for Story. Its funny how they wrote that tweet up, I took it as saying... short term positional move, So if its Boston, that would mean he plays 2B this year and next year when Bogaerts is gone, Story moves back over.

I can't see the Jays adding amorher 25-30M a year player Payroll already at 162M and the infield alrwsy looks very good Need a LH bench bat and a back end BP arm and we're good to go
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Must be amazing to have that kind of payroll
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Must be amazing to have that kind of payroll It would be for sure. you never have to worry about mistakes or injuries since you can just buy your way out if you need to. Not that the Dodgers make a lot of mistakes honestly.
