Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 They should have brought a reliever in to finish the inning while warming up Odorizzi normally. Bringing a starter in directly to that situation never seems to go well. Agreed, just use the same reliever the following inning even, but that situation bode well for a reliever.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2021 Posted October 16, 2021 So who hits the Grand Slam for Boston this inning?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 Overrated in that he's a defensive wizard whos offense gets overrated, whereas Jeter was great offensively, and his defense gets overrated. Imagine if the Jays had a catcher like him for his career, that'd have been awesome. Closest we've come to a Catcher like that was Martin.

Closest we've come to a Catcher like that was Martin. Martin was actually a better catcher than Molina. His defense was just as good, offense was better. He just didn't play as long. Both have 55 WAR, Martin did it in 13 seasons, Molina is on his 19th. It's weird how Martin gets nowhere near the respect that Molina does when he's clearly the better of the two catchers.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 Of course Kike! Like that kid.

I know that John, I agree on the latter, was just saying our catching has been a black hole since like the 80's, early 90's, til Martin. Cards have had Molina his entire tenure, that's sexy.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 Wow... this game suxxxxxxxxxx

Can't use relievers before the 5th Agreed, just use the same reliever the following inning even, but that situation bode well for a reliever. Joe Siddall agrees.

I was at that game when the Drive of 85 was happening, clinching the division against the Yankees was awesome! 2 dollar tickets from Dominion, lol. Wow... Jesse Barfield put up 7 WAR that year, no wonder I loved that man. Our entire OF was disgustingly good. I loved Tony Pena back then, cause he was a Pirate, plus his D and arm... throwing guys out in the splits, that was sick. Sorry, got all nostalgic. Edited October 16, 2021 by Spanky99

You mean the clincher or the game earlier that year when Buck made the tag even with a broken ankle? That clincher beating the Yankees to do it was so awesome I fell for the Jays that day (was not that into baseball before that) GOOD TIMES!! ETA: sorry dumb question. The game with the wild Martinez play was in Seattle it looks like. Edited October 16, 2021 by Dokken

I had forgotten about those.....memories flooding back. lol... that was awesome, and they were on a spin role behind the glass. Cause kids like me were stealing them. Hahaha... I'd collect empties in Taylor Creek in the summer with my dad at 6AM everyday walking my dog, Bobby... weekends were payday!!! Then I'd buy my best friend and I's the Animal House seats... all summer, those were really good times.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Urquidy's taking too much off his off-speed pitches, he's going to get rekt.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Urquidy seems to be losing the plot.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Ouch, Altuve. f***ing Boston.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Does any team have as much luck as the Red Sox? It's been absurd this century.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 And there she blows, just like this game blows.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Wow!!! Game Over, lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Lots of ball left, but....
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 I am sort of okay with this; cheering for Astros has such a bitter taste.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Was hoping it would be a close game. lol
