Have they ever done a poll on this forum to see which team is most disliked? I assume it would come up Yankees #1 with Boston a close 2nd. Is the main reason for Boston dislike just the fact they are a division rival with obnoxious fans? And also that they have had a lot of success (4 championships from 2004 to 2018). Well I think their fans deserve the success after over 80 years of frustration with 'The Curse'.

Oh you mean like the 'roided up Mark McGuire or that superstar Randal Grichuk (although I guess neither may qualify since the former started with the A's and the latter was dumped on the Jays). You do have to respect some guys like Pujols, Wainwright and Molina for their longevity if nothing else.

For me, the Redsox are annoying because of their constant ups and downs. They go from worst in the division in 2012, to being 1st place the next year and winning the WS. You could easily say they fluked that, because the next year in 2014 they were worst in the division again. Same with 2015. They were fairly good between 2016-2018, but again they win the WS in 2018 and then miss the playoffs the next year.

 

And then AGAIN, in 2020 they were s*** and came last place which secured them a nice draft pick. Then in 2021 they make no real improvements to the roster and they win a ton of games and make the ALCS.

 

Luck up the ass for them this past decade.

Speaking of Rays, I was really glad they lost out in the ALDS. They had no business winning 100 games after apparently throwing in the towel by passing on Morton and trading away Snell. But if I was a fan of theirs I would love their organization for being able to develop and trade for good young players year in year out. Then there is that god awful eyesore they call a baseball stadium with the most ridiculous ground rules ever.

Yeah, like I said, I hate their fans so much it bleeds over into hating the franchise, but I've got no issues with the players for the most part. I think Molina is on the same level as Derek Jeter in the "overrated" department, but those 3 years in his late 20s were pretty cool.

Yeah his velo was fine in the first inning, but 2nd inning was noticably down. 90-91 vs 94-95.
