Was a fan of Dyson in the mid 2010’s. Could have racked up nice WAR as a starting CF in his prime (defense and BsR alone, and wouldn’t kill you with the bat) but was used mostly as a 4th OF.

He’s clearly beyond washed now but given the amount of service time he’s accrued in his career, Charlie will play him a lot.

Dickerson/Dyson against righties while Grichuk/Gurriel play against lefties. You know it's going to happen lol.

We might like this move even more or less when we see who is gone to make a roster spot for him

Palacios would be the only one that makes sense. He's about as nothing-burger as it gets and is pretty much the same profile as Dyson, speedy defensive CF who should never start a ball game.

Gurriel

Teo

Grichuk

Dickerson

Dyson

Springer

Six outfielders?

Springer must have tweaked his knee or something.

Dyson gets DFA'd when Springer's back.

Of course, but I think after the update yesterday many were hoping Springer would be back in the Detroit series. Seems less likely now, they could have easily rolled with Teo, Grichuk, Dickerson and Gurriel for a just a couple games.

He ran the bases, he can't be ready yet. Don't want the guy hurt again. Dyson will just cover Polacios role until then, they want him hitting everyday.

So, an older version of Jonathan Davis? Weird move IMO, and who got dumped from the 40 to make room?

He's not here yet officially, I don't get it either. Actually Luciano was released, they didn't have to move anyone.

One of the better bunters, I believe.

So hes another option to pinch hit to bunt for Kirk. Can’t freaking wait.

This is a good acquisition for the Blue Jays Springer's time will be most spent at DH position till the end Dyson in CF Grichuk in RF and Gurriel/Hernandez LF. Plus it give them versatility also on the bench for defense purposes and pinch running. With the roster expansion it's likely the Blue Jays will carry 3 catchers going down the stretch with Jansen activated likely if anyone those guys get on base they will be pinch run for and the next guy will go behind the plate.

Give it up Rowdy Tellez was redundant piece on this team a one dimensional player that could not provide the necessary versatility needed for this team. First base was occupied by Guerrero with Gurriel jr, Biggio to name a few who can also play first base when needed so Rowdy was just a piece occupying real estate on a bench with no urgent need for him. They did the best thing for him and traded him to a place where he get a chance to play there hasn't been any news flash lately that he's became the new Brewers All- Star.

He had a hot July, nothing really indicating he's going to suddenly break out. His August was putrid.

It doesn't matter what Tellez does they're weren't going to play him over Vladdy at first base END OF STORY. Rowdy had his chances here he couldn't do anything during his opportunity he made their decision that much easier to trade him. Get over it management did he wasn't what they were looking for in a bench player VERSATILITY.

If you have someone who's a 115 wRC+ bat - there's no reason you can't make him a full time DH and part time first baseman. That's a top 70 hitter in baseball (of qualified hitters).
