Garbage time stats Kings.

Vikings more of a run heavy system. Cousins is fine for them. Dolis is a nobody. He's better compared to kickers.

I don’t say this often but I’m fine with the pen use tonight by Buntoyo. Would have preferred Hand being used here but he was used yesterday and unfortunately will be given high leverage spots from this point on. Dolis/Borucki is probably the low end of the pen at this rate unless I’m forgetting a scrub.

Borucki should be ahead of Hand imo.

Arash Madani is awful at this

A rash is the worst. That’s saying something. Great win. Just watched on PVR. Ryu sharp. This is my prayer to go over 7 games finally tomorrow. I may have to apologize to Spanky for my negativity before this is over yet!

Another great game. The Jays haven't lost a game I've watched live all the way back to even before the Rajai Davis walk-off game where Kawasaki hit a home run. It's a good feeling after seeing them lose in the first 5-6 games I ever saw.

So the Jays are up to 6 games above .500 for the 4th time this season?

And haven't been able to get 7 games above so far correct?

Like the Leafs trying to win a game 7

Watching his OBP slowly bleed out this year has been f***ing painful.

wRC+ by month:

March/April -- 126

May -- 116

June -- 76

July -- 67

August -- 18

2 years at $10.3M each after 2021. I guess if he can avoid further decline he's still a useful bench player given that he can cut it in CF so it's not likely we see him released, but he's costing the team when deployed as a starter.

That's the biggest problem. If he's used like a traditional backup/4th outfielder, then he's fine, but if he's used as a starting OF, then that's a 600 PA/1 WAR/.270 OBP level player. Montoyo is going to use him like a starter as long as he's on the team. They might need to Panik him this winter just to take the toy away from the manager. Palacios can be a 4th OF, is already on the 40 man, and is not a vetrin, so the manager won't use him like a starter. That's an easy position to fill even if they don't want to use Palacios in that role. Hopefully this off season is the end of the Grichuk run, but I don't think it will be.

Hah, yeah, ice cold Grichuk is hard to watch, maybe hot Grichuk can show his face like yesterday.

The contract is untradeable, he'd be better used as you suggested, if he's hot, roll with him. If not 4th OF/pinch hit/late defensive replacement role. I'm tiring of Grichuk, especially if he doesn't turn it around soon. I'm glad LGJ is rolling now.

I loved the fact that Montoyoyo used low leverage arms from the bullpen for low leverage innings. Maybe, just maybe, he will stop using his top three relievers in lopsided games and save them for when he actually needs them in close games and the Jays begin winning those games. I was completely shocked last night, Montoyoyo did absolutely nothing to hurt the Jays in the game or hurt their chances moving forward. If Montoyoyo can move beyond that silly philosophy of let's do everything to win this game and worry about the next game tomorrow, to a more sophisticated approach of realizing that one needs to use the bullpen with the understanding that yes, there is a game tomorrow and it might be a close one and it just might be prudent to keep your high leverage guys sitting till you need them in high leverage situations. If Montoyoyo keeps doing this, then maybe the Jays could go on a run.

Thats about the size of it. Randal and his 5/52 plus Roark 2/24 plus Yates/Chatwood/Hand mm OR Ray (insert other names here) 3/60. What would I rather have? This FO has made some great moves...but also some real duds. Guess you can say that about almost any FO, except COL, which seems to hit consistent dud moves.

there is a decent chance he will get red hot. thats been his pattern. Ive rarely seen a guy so consistently predictable as to what he is at end of a full season. On another note Im excited to see what Pearson is in relief. I think how he does is huge one way or other.

Grichuk might look a tad better down the stretch if he is only used when up against left handed pitchers. His numbers are slightly better against left handers.

That's where Dickerson could play a bit role down the stretch. The better he plays, the less Grickuk does. Hopefully he can fill the role we hoped Tellez would this year.

I agree. I know Dickerson did nothing in the game yesterday, but I thought he looked good at the plate for someone who has not seen MLB pitching in quite awhile. Given Dickerson will primarily be used against right handed pitching and Grichuk against left handers - think that spot in the batting lineup will see improved contribution. And if Gurriel gets hot, and think he will, this lineup will look much longer than it has in the past month moving forward. Who knows, maybe the Jays might be able to scratch out those hard to come by runs in close games and win more of those games moving forward.
