It was NWA slang, sorry you grew up cradled in this society of cancelling humour as well, great job.

No. Money is dominating the corporate world. Decisions are made based on NOTHING BUT bottom line considerations. If making decisions such as suspending Bauer for 300 games or whatever it is is the best business decision for MLB, so be it. Politics has nothing to do with it.

Your theory of everything is wrong. For entry decision that’s made to appease to the wokes, you lose people on the other side. There’s no proof appeasing wokes is better than the people on the right. Companies are being pressured into taking a position on things and their decision of where to lay their chips is based on where they think the moral compass is pointed towards. And that just comes down to who has the loudest voice

There's no humour in saying the n word. Hope this is clear now.

lol, c'mon connor, please don't tell me you are better than corporate CEOs and their advisors

the sole purpose of a business is to make money for its owners / shareholders. every decision is made through the lens of maximizing profit. this means understanding the customer base, and making every decision based on maintaining and expanding that customer base. a business will not make a decision that goes against that maintaining and expanding objective. end of story, nothing else matters.

Yes.

That's also not what you said.

One thing that no one has mentioned is the public relations risk. According to the LA Times story, 3 woman gave interviews to the investigators and provided evidence, including at least 1 video apparently. Potentially, there are other women that gave interviews in confidence and will not go public.

So MLB is in a tough spot, they give Bauer a light suspension, say 40 games and they run the risk of having a public relations nightmare with news stories about Bauer's bad behaviour, that MLB was aware of, popping up. From a business perspective, MLB probably didn't have any other choice but to do what they did.

If that's TRUE, sure.

Well, yes of course, and none of us know the truth. But it's a perfectly plausible explanation for why MLB made the business decision they did, that doesn't involve a favour to LAD.

Disney did not take a stand for profit amigo. They’re spending more on lawyers alone right now than anything they could have dreamed to gain (they wouldve gained nothing but woke praise). Failure of an argument

Going back to baseball.. who is really giving up baseball bc they don’t like Trevor Bauer. You’ll have a couple woke people that cancel their season tickets…but everyone has a short memory with that stuff…he’s a net positive asset by helping them win games and play deep into the playoffs.

The bigger worry with him though is the rumor he’s not wanted back in the clubhouse

Or, you know, this new allegation.

imagine being on top of the world in your very public profession and deciding to donkey punch women in your free time

doesn't really matter if it was consensual or illegal or even against their policies - what a f***ing idiot, regardless

That only seems logical based on the erroneous initial reports that biased our opinions in the matter. Could’ve been much closer to “normal” rough sex.

We’ll have to see what the mlb dirt brings. The only way this punishment makes sense after the original accusers version was thrashed would be he’s a serial abuser

That's very true. Doubt anyone sees different.

The VP of communications for Disney just resigned today or got pushed out because Disney stepped on their dick with recent decisions. MLB isn’t any smarter…. In fact, MLB has proven to probably be not too smart relative to other leagues and corporations.

Some of what Jim wrote is correct here, except the absolutist statement at the end that is so presumptuously written. "a business will not make a decision that goes against that maintaining and expanding objective. end of story, nothing else matters."

Pompous statements like these that you constantly revert too in many of your posts/arguments are why you are labeled as the board "pretend know it all". The business world is littered with examples of terrible decisions by leaders/CEOs that have had crippling financial implications. To attempt to frame this otherwise under the guise of "you think you know better than a CEOs?" is nonsensical.

ConnorP example of Disney choosing woke is just the most recent, which on the surface could become prohibitively costly for them just on the tax implications alone, without even considering the impact on the customer base.

I have no doubt your attempted retort will just further entrench your position on this, while also reaffirming your superior intelligence to all of us though...

Guys have abused their girlfriends/wives much worse than Bauer and received far less penalties.

The difference is that Bauer's weird kinky sex got exposed, and everyone just thinks he's a weird creep now.

Hard to imagine him getting a shot with a team in two years time.

I'm entitled to my opinion, presumptous or not, and this doesn't change it. There was revolt within Disney staff, and if the WDW operation was disrupted by staff, that comes with a cost. The poltical pushback, questionable since Disney was simply exercising freedom of speech, was not anticipated. It's probably abuse of power to pass laws to punish corporations that express opinions politicians disagree with.

End of the day, Florida ends up paying Disney damages.

Sorry, I forgot about connor.

When I first read about it, I thought he was a very sick puppy. Punching some girl in the vagina, raped her in the butt while passed out, fractured her skull etc… it was basically presented as facts and that formed peoples opinions…but all of those points are highly contested as far as if it happened…so idk.. the rough sex would be a lot easier to look past if those kind of things are left out
