Bauer is badly tarnished by this, probably blacklisted by a good many teams.

Agreed. I would be shocked if he throws another pitch in MLB. A team in Korea might be willing to give him a shot but it's also unlikely.

I can't even imagine the meltdowns in the replies to that tweet.

THis is my favorite so far:

Sign me up if it means we can get Bauer at a discount. If he didn't break any laws here, I don't care too much. Of course no jokes are off-limits though lol.

I'd say if he wants it, Bauer has a stranglehold for that final spot in our rotation.

Hard to imagine Bauer throwing another pitch in MLB again. Likely facing a lengthy suspension - with the lockout his suspension might not start until the beginning of 2023. If he does pitch again it wouldn't be until 2024.

When a prosecutor decides not to pursue charges, it doesn't necessarily mean laws were not broken, it may simply mean the prospect of conviction is considered low.

As you know, people acquitted of crimes are often found civilly liable. The threshold of a conviction (beyond reasonable doubt) is much higher than the threshold for civil liability (balance of probability).

MLB likely uses balance of probability as their threshold for a suspension, or possibly even lower given their goal is simply business interest.

Maybe he can sneak in the back end of the rotation. Would probably have to beat out some of the other sleepers for him to get in the 2 spot.

Yes, it's possible laws MAY have been broken but they have little chance of conviction due to "insert factors here", but it could also mean the prospect of conviction is low because no laws were broken. We, not having all the info, should not make assumptions either way.

Any suspension would be retroactive to his admin leave start date. It's likely he'd be eligible to pitch on day 1 when the season starts.

I wondered that, but I think it was paid, does that change things?

And I didn't.... see "necessarily"

Yes he may have broken laws but he also may not have

So you’re just talking in circles

Fact of the matter is it looks like Bauer will be back on an MLB mound in 2022.

Do one for me when he’s lights out and you threw him in a deal as a toss in. Maybe a gif of that black senator candidate smoking a blunt?

Everyone should post their Trevor Bauer panic dynasty trades from last year

Mine: Bauer for Stroman and Loaisiga

No. he just forks over the money for whatever length of games the suspension would be for and it's over.

MLB is f***ed if they try to suspend him. There is essentially zero evidence that he did anything illegal or wrong.

They won't suspend him, and the hard lefties will cry on tiktok videos, and it will be glorious.
