I’m not really surprised by this decision. Hopefully this situation will be sorted out in the off-season.

The players don’t want him back, he’s still getting paid… no reason to fight it really. He’s not going to want to sit all next season though, so something will give. Doubt LAD wants him back.

Yeah you're probably right. So he gets to spend months on admin leave missing games, then might get suspended later for even more, where his salary still gets paid by Dodgers but rather than being paid to him, it goes to wherever suspended player's salary goes.

 

Just feels kinda weird to know that he could be suspended for "insert random #" of games to start next season, when he's already missed 62 so far, and will miss another 21 before the season is over.

Yeah. I agree it's not ideal, but at the same time he brought all of this on himself. I feel a little sorry for the Dodgers, but not him. MLB should probably withhold MOST of the salary during these investigations, then the rest can be released if appropriate after the investigation concludes.

They definitely can’t. And you can’t just not pay someone while you take whatever arbitrary time you want to “gather facts”. But I think he was more saying from a moral standpoint, rather than a legal one. Idk. That’s what I got

I imagine they could if it was written into the CBA along with a sensible time limit. There's no way they could as things currently stand. Besides, it makes too much sense for it to ever happen.

At league minimum, there are 29 teams that would trip over themselves to bring in Bauer. He only chokes in the bedroom, not on the mound.

I actually don't think Rogers would allow it even at league min. The front office would be fools not to want it though.

I thought Canadian companies were suppose to be progressive? Kink shaming is not very progressive to me. The consent was there. But when she said skull f*** me. She didn’t mean litterally. We can all learn something from this actually.

 

EDIT: I think all we need would be Canadian sex workers to create a fuss and we would be fine to sign Bauer.
