Can't actually blame Montoyo for that one.

Dolis has been walked off by the redsox twice this series and imploded on the mound in their last series vs them, I probably would have rather seen literally anyone else come out of the pen before Dolis.

C'mon man. No excuse not using Romano versus the heart of their order, he's rested. Montoyo feels that using the pitcher with the embarrassing WHIP against the heart of their order in a 1-1 tie bottom of the ninth versus a divisional and playoff rival was the right choice.

He probably was listed as unavailable today, there's some fishy s*** going on with his arm for sure... regardless of how well he's been throwing when available.

At least he can even throw it over the plate, unlike Chatwood.

Looked like he was warming up. But even so, Castro is the guy there, and quite frankly, it isn't even close

Castro then?

It's so hard to watch Dolis pitch. Even when he's successful, it's such a chore to watch him. And when he isn't (which seems more and more frequent), he's really infuriating.

I expected Boston to win this game about 6-0 after being embarrassed yesterday. So taking them almost to extras is like a win. I'm sure montoyo thinks the same

Biggio defense sucks dick too. He can't make any play unless it's hit right at him and even then it's questionable.

Not really biggios fault that they insist he plays a position he cant. Granted it was in the shift, but he's already not a strong defender and they have him in a spot he cant play.

This is actually a terrible year to trying to buy relievers, too. There won't be many teams selling and the ones that will be don't have much to offer in that department.

He's perhaps still their 2nd best reliever, lol.

As dinglet says, who knows wtf is going on with Romano

Don't you f***ing besmirch dick-sucking by comparing it to Biggio's defence.

Biggio was playing in his natural 2B position, basically. Terrible misplay by Cavan

Charlie just confirmed Romano was available and would have pitched had the Jays taken the lead.

He was warming with Dolis, top of the order you go with your best Dinger, c'mon you know that.

I actually LIKE that Buntoyo isn't quickly favoring Castro to Dolis. That would be dumb. Castro has like ten effective MLB innings under his belt. Dolis was a stud last year and has better projections.

Apparently Romano was available but Montoyo said he was going to use him in the 9th only if the Jays took the lead.

Atkins can no longer be called Alpha Atkins. Not as long as Buntoyo is managing.

(flashes back to Buck Showalter opting for Ubaldo Jimenez with Zach Britton available)

Ok... NOW fire Charlie Montoyo.

1. ROMANO was fine. He was warming up if they took the lead

2. Dolis is not the 2nd best reliever

3. Montoyo is using him like last year in which he was lucky to start the year and has been taking a beating since. Shouldn't be in high leverage situations, even with our pasted together bullpen

Well then.

It's not ideal but still not like, Ubaldo over Britton. I don't know if you call it egregious, per se

I agree with that, but you know SAVE!!!! Romano should face their best there.

Dolis is probably their second best projected reliever. Like it or not.

I need to watch the video again, but I think he was playing further to the left side of the diamond than where a 2B regularly plays.
