I don't really know but honestly, the bullpen is a dumpster fire. Romano is the only good reliever.

You'd almost think the best option was to leave Stripling in seeing as how he had only thrown 78 pitches

Yet our manager cant wait to go to the bullpen any chance he gets. It was the same BS last season when we yanked Shoemaker and Ray in the wild card game just so we could put AJ f***ing Cole in the game.

Perhaps, but Stripling has been getting hammered this year and this many times through the order... Any reliever is a better option. Honestly.

It's interesting how a defense only catcher like Reese McGuire can just all of a sudden be bad at, you know, catching.

Chatwood's bad, and that block attempt was pretty awful. Strip's line gets rekt, too bad Chuckles didn't let him finish the inning. Free passes are the worst.

Stripling was having a good game but let's be real here. He has been getting hammered all year and he had already gone through the order multiple times tonight. Objectively you yank him. I think. Just sucks the bullpen is trash

He's been slapping at so many pitches too, lost Stripling a bunch of potential strikes. Can't wait for Gruber to tell me that Danny Jansen can't frame the low pitch because he doesn't have a closed stance.

The bullpen is atrocious, but short of Beasley (is he even still on the roster?) that was the worst sub Charlie could have made. Stripling's pitch count was low enough to continue as well and it's not like he was getting hit hard, it was two grounders that got through with 2 out.

Chatwood's last appearance as a Jay.........unless team management is insane.

It's disgusting. I don't know what happened with him. He all of a sudden looks like vintage Ryan Doumit trying to frame something

You yank him when you have suitable players to take his place. When your bullpen is a disaster like ours is currently, you ride your starters. It's pretty straight forward actually. Our management seems to think all bullpen arms are made equally.

I don't disagree? Maybe? I dunno

I think, in this case, this is another one to chalk up most of the blame to Montoyo, both, because Stripling and a reliever with more control are better choices than Chatwood.

Posted
This is completely irrational, but that stupid look Montoyo makes when things go wrong just aggravates me more. At least give the appearance that you have things under control.

So we let Strip face the top of the order the 3rd time through, but not the number 7 hitter?

Nah I still think Chatwood has to be one of their four best active relievers. The tough thing is you have to keep rolling him out there so he can figure it out. Not saying this was the spot though. Clean innings ideal. But I don't know... say you are pulling Strip, who do you bring in instead? Payamps pitches last night and so did Castro. Thornton?
