BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 How many intentional walks is Vlad going to get tomorrow? Lol There is ZERO reason to pitch Vladdy. You can put 2 on base and I rather walk Vladdy and face the guy behind him right now.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Who was hitting 3 home runs in a game in 1901? I'll guarantee you that two of them were inside the park.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Biggio is like the perfect leadoff hitter and his career numbers represent that. But Springer wants to hit leadoff even though he’s probably better hitting second or third.
vaff Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Who was hitting 3 home runs in a game in 1901? Most likely that’s as far back as they have info for, as of now.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I'll guarantee you that two of them were inside the park. I checked anyone young with more than 8 home runs on the season and none of them even hit 2, so I'm not sure that their stats are correct. Vlad might be the youngest player ever to do it.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Dolis? I would have went with Romano here.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 MLB Stats @MLBStats Vlad Guerrero Jr. is the youngest player since at least 1901 with a 3-HR, 7-RBI game. Can probably guess he's the youngest ever then since obviously no one was hitting 3 homeruns (at least while outfield fences existed) pre-1901 lol.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Dolis? Montoyo playing 4d chess.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Look at that, Matz going for his 4th win in a row to start his Jays career. I don't need to know any other stat than that. Great pitcher!

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Our bullpen man. Don't know what to say lol
Stottlemyres_Bloody_Chin Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I feel like this is a turning point in the season, kinda like 2015 game vs Scherzer where Pillar hit 2 HR and sparked a winning streak. Just got this feeling that the offense is gonna catch fire, especially with Springer and Teo about to return

Interesting not even Ruth, Mantle, Mays, Bonds, or Ted Williams accomplished this feat. All started 19-21 years old.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Crazy when it was 3-0. We thought we were all going to be talking about Trea Turner’s special night. And then Vladdy just decided to take over.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 We witnessed history tonight! Thanks Vlad!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Who was hitting 3 home runs in a game in 1901? They probably just don't have the required stats to know before 1901. It's possible that he's the youngest ever.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Vladdy with the rather pedestrian 958 wRC+ for the game...

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Let's get Stripling, Pearson, Teo and Springer back and see if we can go on a tear for a while here.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Tyler Chatwood has been amazing this year.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Vladdy with the rather pedestrian 958 wRC+ for the game... He started with a measly 196 wRC+, it is now 229 after one game.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 This game is definitely a Blue Jays in 30 PVR keeper.
Virgil_Hiltz Verified Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Wow this has to be Scherzer’s worst start in years? Worse start since he got "pillared" by Kevin!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 This would be hard to find, but I wonder how many players have hit home runs to all fields in 3 consecutive at-bats.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Not to mention that Turner is apparently Thorton's college nemesis. ...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 He's been making solid contact here and there lately... First AB this game was 102 off the bat... had one that was 105 last game... Correct, silver linings... love LGJ
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
