As far as Springer goes I hope they are just being cautious and that it's not a setback. If he's not 100% give him another week if he needs no sense in rushing it and risking re-injury.

But I don't like the sound of this. It sounded like he was playing full intrasquad games last week. Then they were talking about him playing this past weekend, then DH'ing today, and then all the sudden he's not ready. It just doesn't vibe but hopefully it's nothing.

I hope he's just a bit sore... but I doubt it. He had on off day yesterday. I can't see him being back before June.

Am I being over-reactionary? I don't think so. Like I said if it didn't heal in 2 weeks, they now need to give it 3 this time, + a very slow 2 week rehab stint (the quick rehab stint didn't work).

Real baseball is h2h, not roto. As long as Springer is healthy for week 1 of the playoffs then I'm happy. The playoffs will be easy to make without him.

Easy there Dr. Olerud, lets here some news first.

With another day off Thursday, it seems unlikely he comes back tomorrow, because why not give him two additional days rest at this point.

See you in June Springer.

With saying that, why June?

If it goes that far there is zero reason to play him the wild card game or first round. Those things are crap shoots anyway.

I'd probably add him to the roster for the ALCS but only as pinch hitter and maybe DH game 5 then have him ready to play full time in the World Series.

He's on the IL?

DL's different. It's what the IL used to be called before disabled people got offended.

I'm surprised Teo isn't playing yet either. Im guessing that he did develop some level of symptoms because he should be DH at least by now no?

Quarantine these guys inside a batting cage going forward lol.

Yikes at the people responding to the update on Shitter!

Definitely not a great way to endear yourself to the new fanbase by missing your first months worth of games. That being said I prefer having him miss the first month or two if it means he'll be good to go for the rest of the year. I'm glad he didn't push hard to make opening day and then re-injure himself worse and be out til August

Why was he playing pretend games and playing centre field last friday and Saturday if he isn't healthy.

That's wishful thinking, but I hope you're right.

Ya I don't see how it ensures he won't reinjure or hurt something else later on. Its just a nice way of taking bad news without it actually meaning anything lol.

Leg injuries are worrisome... Especially for an OF. I'm sure we'll get more info, but as of now it seems like he may have tweaked it again or it just wasn't 100% yet.

Anyone with a lazer on GS, is trash. There's no way this man wanted to miss a game. lol

He's been playing in the simulated games, he's close.

I'd beg the latter... lol.

Charlie “He feels great except the running” lol. Pretty important thing that running. See you in a month

If oblique and quads are gonna be a thing for him, wouldn’t it be better to put him in RF?

Yeah, they announced that he was symptomatic a while back. Apparently not really bad, but obviously bad enough...

If he can run, use those legs while you can at CF. Didn't pay him 150 mill to be a corner OF from the start lol.

No Springer is extremely disappointing. The caution they are taking with him is next level. Hopefully he can get on Friday against the Braves. Looks like they milking these off days to buy time.
