Crazy how cheap a guy close to a triple crown last year goes for. To think we signed grichuk to a 5/50 contract lol

Not enough as a corner OFer to offset the offensive production. I'm just a fan of Ozuna and am taking it out on Grichuk lol.

I mean, there's a pretty large difference between 4/65 (or 5/80) and 5/50. I'm not saying that Ozuna isn't the better player, or that the contract isn't a great deal for the Braves, just like... "I got this Toyota for $50K, when I could have gotten that BMW for $80K" isn't something the average person complains about.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Ozuna was a f***ing beast last year, but in 4 of the past 6 seasons his wRC+ has been <110. For someone who's bad defensively, his production may not be much better than Grichuk if his bat returns to what it was in 2018-2019.

 

That said - his savant metrics suggest he's a beast and the gains he's made in BB% over the last 2 years suggest he's made the necessary adjustments.

To me it looks like Ozuna unlocked beast mode in 2020. I really like the Brave's offseason moves, they've flown a bit under the radar. Morton's stuff looked to be rebounding nicely after his velocity was down quite a bit early on, and Smyly added several ticks to his average velocity compared to his previous best year overall.

Boras, who's largely had a year off is sitting there with Paxton and JBJ. With the flurry of signings these are 2 of the better players available. Boras slow playing the market as always. I'm sure he's on the phone with the Mets right now for both players trying to drive the price up for them.

What would Jays fans think of a cheap reunion with Aaron Sanchez?

Would you rank him 4th of our 3 if he is healthy?

I was mentioning the other day that if he figures out his finger situation, he's still a great bullpen arm at worst. Would love to see him on a minor league deal.

Minor league deal and he's a full time reliever. No sense comparing him to viable starters.

It feels like Sanchez should be older. He's only 28. There's no reason not to bring him in on a minor league deal to see what he has. He might prefer a crappy team where he might have a better shot of making the MLB roster though.

 

While we are at it and bringing back former Jays, can we get Osuna on a minor league? I'd love to take a look at him in spring training.

In pro sports, there’s always going to be a team that gives the problem player a spot if elite production is still a possibility. Short of like an Aaron Hernandez thing
