Kevin Smith being called up for tmw according to Jamie f***ing Campbell of all people.

It's about f***ing time but probably too late. I hope that means Valera or Dolis are finally gone.

Gotta think Dolis gets DFAed to open a spot on the 40. And Overton or Thornton gets optioned for Mayza. So team is substantially better for tomorrows game.

Overton deserves to stay over Thornton, he’s been good so far

Get Dolis and Thornton the f*** off this team for good.

I remember all the talk this spring about how the surgery reinstated a bunch of flexibility for Thornton and he could throw his change up again. So much hope, but he's been pure s***.

There's no more waiver trade deadline (Aug 31), right? Otherwise it would make sense to be holding him as a chip for that. Kinda feel bad for him, but he'll get his shot.

I believe that was only last year? No.

Lots of people were dumping him for a hypothetical 2nd rate SP since last year while keeping the core intact with Biggio and Jansen lol. Teo’s a stud

Please show us these "imaginary" people, thanks!?

So Chucky really did roll out Thornton, Snead, Overton, Saucedo and Dolis last night.

What a flaming pile of s*** for pitching.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions on your careers Mr Snead and Overton.

I feel like that was fine until the game was 8-6. Kind of ******** to have Dolis pitch in the 8th with bases loaded in a close game

Dolis has a BB/9 over 7.50 and his ERA and xFIP are both over 5.

Why is he even on the team? lol

Tommy Hatch is alive and in AAA.

lmao what the f***

Because he had a fluky low ERA last year... there can be no other reason. The guy can't throw a strike if his life depended on it.

He was legitimately decent last year and it was reasonable this year to expect him to turn it around but at some point in the last, I dunno, month, the org needed to realize he's f***ed and cut bait. I don't know what they are even looking at anymore.

As with Charlie, its like they’re looking at their feet and hoping the problem will sort itself out

So just to get this in writing:

Springer jumps into the outfield wall, appears to hurt his leg in a serious way. Does walk off the field.

After the game Montoyo says publicly that it's just a sprained ankle and less serious than the team had feared.

The next day Montoyo says he has a sprained knee actually and it being put in the IL and implies he may not return this season.

Why is Charlie Montoyo even allowed to comment on player injuries?

God dammit this 2021 team had the potential to be one of the all time entertaining / satisfying Blue Jays teams but my enjoyment of it has been utterly ruined by Montoyo and the relievers and the injuries.

Relievers are f***ing volatile, useful one year, absolute s*** the next, or in Dolis' case, useful one year, s*** all of the others. Dolis has been s*** for months now, no idea why he is still around.

Things I'll never fully understand about the FO and this lost 2021 season:

1) How is Charlie still employed? Nice man but he truly is awful.

2) Losing Ray and Semien in 22. Even if we keep one/both it will eat up big $. Why is 2022 and beyond assumed it will be any easier in the AL East? Bo, Vlad, Teo etc gonna get paid.

3) We bargained binned on Yates/Chatwood. I get it. But why did we wait so long to add incremental, material pieces to the pen when it became clear the team was at a minimum a legit wildcard team?

4) Why did we go all in on Berrios (aside from the obvious - one extra year) and yet add only Hand/Soria at deadline in an area of bleeding need?

5) Dolis/Thorton et al. Can't this org do better?

6) How is this offence so unlucky and/or bad in late innings/close games?

7) Dickerson is a good piece. Didn't we need a more impactful LHH with all the tough RHP we face late?

Montoyo managing this team during Vlad/Bo's primes is such a depressing thought. If he's still employed after this season, then the front office deserves to get heavily criticized for it. In 2019, this job was not attractive. In 2022, it's going to be very attractive. One year of the team's competitive cycle will likely be wasted this season on a minor league manager who coaches like he's managing little league. To double down on that mistake will show a real lack of competitiveness by Atkins. Sure, maybe he can build a team that is dummy proof enough to compensate for Charlie being Charlie, but it would be easier to just get a better mind back there.

Exactly how I feel also.

Yeah Montardo takes a lot of the blame but and you can't fully blame a guy for injuries but if Sprainer stayed healthy all year I have no doubt we'd be in WC1 or WC2 right now.

We had that guy in Tellez, but he started slow when we needed him to be hot, then had to sit when we brought Springer back (too early) and had to DH him and then we shipped him away because the bullpen sucked. Sometime it just works out that way.
