Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Alcantara's done his job, nicely done, kid.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Took a long time for d'Arnaud to realize his potential
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Alcantara's done his job, nicely done, kid. People only talk about Sixto and Lopez. Alcantra is really solid and Hernandez when he wasn't injured also did a bang up job, Rogers is good also.. A QS from your SP, not going to complain. I would love to have Miami's pitching for the Blue Jays.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Braves are good @ beisbol
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Wish these games would stay close, makes it more exciting. Blowouts take all the fun out of it...

Boxy is dumn! lol They really aren't that good. They're an extremely mediocre team at best that has three intriguing arms, Brian Anderson and Starling Marte. It's a team full of young high risk position players + pitching with some mediocre vets that were alright. I want them to keep winning for the memes but this is by no means a playoff team.

This season, they look like the A's to me. Well A's lite... anyone can win in the post-season.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Well, Org. This season, they look like the A's to me. Well A's lite... anyone can win in the post-season. Marlins: 26th in position player fWAR 27th in pitching fWAR (18th for SP alone) The only reason they were even close to a playoff spot was extreme random variation in a stupidly short season. Over 162 games they are possibly getting a top 5 draft pick again.

Just because anyone can win in the postseason doesn't mean they're a good team. The Pittsburgh Pirates can win a 3 or 5 game series against anyone. lol @ saying they look like the A's, ridiculous statement. The Marlins are literally not a good team.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I want the Dodgers against either NYY or HOU in the World Series (rivalries > underdogs making it), but as I said before, the most fitting way to end the insanity of this 2020 sports year would be a Marlins WS win. Either give me a rivalry or pure insanity. I won't settle for anything else.

I hadn't looked at stats, my bad. I simply meant, anyone can win in a tournament.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I always liked the old Florida Marlins logo and unis. This current look is wack. They copped the Miami Vice look but muted it and made it less stylish.

There are a lot of temp scrubs adding to those numbers. I stand by my claim I would much rather have their SPs then the Blue Jays and they have reinforcements on the way. The current team with Sanchez, Chisolm, Rogers, Yami, although he did s*** today, Cooper, is not the same team as even a month and a half ago. Yet, they still found ways to win enough games and make it to the second round of the dance.

Their SP are decent and it's a good young core in the rotation but the bullpen is dumb and the position player side is just plain awful right now and doesn't even look great going forward. I think Jasrado Chisholm, Monte Harrison, Lewis Brinson, Jesus Sanchez might actually all be the same horrible player.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Good point. It was nuts for them. Coop's a beast! It wasn't that bad because most of the players who got Covid were near replacement level anyway. They lost like, Miguel Rojas, Sandy Alcantara, and some s***** relievers for a couple of weeks. Mehhhhhh
