Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 This is dumn... guy's cruising, 1 infield hit, ughhh. Shut it down Hatch.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Gurriel had a small lead. Didn't have a chance
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Josh Tomlin can seriously f*** off lol. It's quite perplexing how Tomlin sucks absolute s*** and the Jays just, for whatever reason, can't hit him.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 You don’t run with Shitbrick hitting. Way to much swing and miss.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K - 84 pitches & 52 strikes Lots of orange outside the zone.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Ryu should get one more inning. Won't! Its Hatch time
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Ryu was dealing and hes being paid 20 million dollars a season. We didn’t sign him to not go more than 5 innings lol. Not mad at seeing Hatch. But still dumb😉.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I like Danny Jansen but he looks like a volleyball coach from the 80s We should give Kirk an opportunity

Not mad at seeing Hatch. But still dumb. Look I hate taking Ryu out as much as the next guy but who knows if our high performance department had a set pitch count on Ryu and most of our starters early in the season with the lack of real game action after months of layoffs, plus considering Ryu's injury history. At least Montoyo went to Hatch and not a brutal reliever.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Ryu has been busy with a new baby during quarantine, arm strength isn’t built up to 100 pitches.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Great inning Hatch. Good stuff.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Didn't Ryu throw 100 pitches on opening night, or close to it? And if I recall he was out of gas way before he was taken out. I mean, it is what it is. As long as Hatch goes multiple innings, I'm fine with it.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Hatch's stuff very much plays at this level.

Not mad at seeing Hatch. But still dumb. I'm at a dinner thing with my family...completely missed the game. I turn on to see 2 to 0 starting bottom of the 6th. Then I see 8 strike outs and and 3 walks and think Ryu must have burned through 100 pitches in 5 innings. Then I check the box score and it's 84 pitches! This is his 3rd start of the year. What is Montoya doing taking him out? Tomorrow we'll lose a tight one because none of our quality relievers were available because they pitched tonight.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I switched games. Why was Ryu removed after 84 pitches?
Ray Verified Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Uhh...why did the Cubs let this guy go?

Ryu was scheduled and built up for only 80 pitches and was clearly gassed.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Hatch is the real deal. He'll be in the 2021 rotation from day 1 (health permitted).
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I switched games. Why was Ryu removed after 84 pitches? Montoyo
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Author Posted August 6, 2020 Anyone here doubted Hatch?? I don't think so, you see that?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I switched games. Why was Ryu removed after 84 pitches? Probably a set pitch count. I'd have to imagine it was the FO's call.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Probably a set pitch count. I'd have to imagine it was the FO's call. That's good. Was worried he was injured.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Put Hatch out for a 2nd inning?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Put Hatch out for a 2nd inning? Would be an absolute waste if he doesn't get another inning.
