saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Damn, Tellez drilled that. 111.4 mph. Rowdy only has 2Ks in 17 PA with 2 walks. I know that's not a sample size, but it's a good start. If he kept that up with his exit velocity he'd have a fantastic season.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Sure good for us, but it seems like you're ignoring that he played for 3 teams last year and put up a 4.72 FIP for the year combined. He was not so good, or hot garbage prior to joining us. Oliver Drake played for 5 teams in one season before landing in Tampa and figuring it out and becoming a valuable reliever for them. That's just how relievers are, one day they can just click and another they can fall apart. Wilmer Font was very good for us, and maybe he unlocked something which allowed him to be good going forward. Or maybe not. Relievers!
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 well considering i literally said good for us, yeah I would ignore the teams that aren't 'us' now we're arguing like Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson, but I said I wouldn't tie the words great and Font together. He was good for us last year and he's off to a great start with us this year...one down! There's certainly nothing wrong with his stuff.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It's embarrassing that the reigning World Series champions are trotting out Emilio Bonifacio.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Thank you Washington for putting Bonifacio in the lineup. Who wasn’t a good major leaguer in 2013 and somehow is playing in 2020.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Emilio Bonifacio is their LF. You tell us. Gold, Boxcar.... Gold!!!
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It's embarrassing that the reigning World Series champions are trotting out Emilio Bonifacio. Was thinking same. Must admit I didn't know he was even still in MLB. Triggers my Marlins trade syndrome.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 now we're arguing like Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson, Locals farmers?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Something extremely difficult to do. Throwing 5 pitches to Teoscar Hernandez and have him swing at none of them.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Was thinking same. Must admit I didn't know he was even still in MLB. Triggers my Marlins trade syndrome. He hadn't played in the big leagues since 2017, and that was after consecutive years of significantly below replacement level production. It's puzzling that they literally could not find a single guy better in free agency (cough Puig cough), waivers or their minor league system.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Spanky’s championship run continues
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It's embarrassing that the reigning World Series champions are trotting out Emilio Bonifacio. And gave two years to Starlin Castro. In my mind Rizzo surpasses Dayton Moore by 1000 times as the worst GM to win a World Series.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 One of the best movies ever....JJ
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 not a great effort from one of the best defensive third basemen in all of baseball
M.E. Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Having to watch Nats broadcast on DTV. Their announcers are tough. All about last year. Guys it is over. New year. Move on.....
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Having to watch Nats broadcast on DTV. Their announcers are tough. All about last year. Guys it is over. New year. Move on..... to be fair if the jays just won the world series and we didn't have any professional sports in 4 months I would be fine with hearing all about the championship run all over again
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Soto finally got 2 negative tests in a row....wonder if he'll be in tomorrow.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Cole is not the quickest working pitcher eh
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 One of the best movies ever....JJ Yup, I still watch it from time to time with my pops!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 AJ Cole takes 6 minutes to throw a pitch. But Victory!
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 man....to think if Giles didn't get hurt we'd be 4 and 1. Bring on Mad Max!
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 nice win Jays. Excited for tomorrows game.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 W another solid one from the boys
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 man....to think if Giles didn't get hurt we'd be 4 and 1. Bring on Mad Max! If Buntoyo wasn’t a moron we are probably 4-1
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 We saw fence balls and I like fence balls. Great game. CY Roark dominated. Pearson vs Scherzer tomorrow
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 We have played really well this year. Giles' arm not blowing up (and Montoyo not being an idiot) puts us at 4-1. But s*** happens. Keep this momentum going.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Young team looking good so far, could easily be 4-1 is not for the tampa collapse.
