PNC park makes a lot of sense given it's a state of the art MLB park, proximity to travel schedule, and reasonable size & amenities for covid measures.

Pirates would be doing us a solid given they took Ben Cherington & Steve Sanders from our front office.

I'm actually excited to see the Jays play home games at PNC if it happens. Always wanted to see the Jays have an outdoor stadium with grass (became a Jays fan in 91 so I've only known Skydome/RC). The Pirates would be doing the Jays a huge favor here. Cherington/Sanders for using their park for a season? Deal.

As someone who saw several games at Exhibition Stadium (the mistake by the lake), trust me when I say that Skydome was thousands of times better. It was also a HUGE deal with Skydome opened, it was a technological marvel, and was treated as such at the time.

I was 16 when it opened and all I wanted was to go a game. It was 50/50 Jays/dome interest. Having it start raining during a game was considered lucky, so you could also watch the show in the sky. It was all exciting.

....especially if you had ever watched a game from the outfield bleachers at the Ex!

Skydome at the beginning was definitely a big deal, but it just looks really outdated now, and when you look pictures of the stadium during off season, it hurts my knees just looking at what the players have to play on all year. I doubt Toronto is ever going to build a new stadium, and they'll never/can't add grass, so looks like we are stuck with this, but at least we (might) get PNC this season.

That turf is used in the majority of NFL stadiums, I wish this fallacy would die. But yeah, the Dome's getting old. Won't see a stadum for minimum 5 years and likely 10.

You think the turf/hard as a rock surface being worse for your body than natural grass is a fallacy? I think players would disagree with you. There’s a reason nearly all baseball stadiums are grass.

There's also a reason why all NFL stadiums are going to turf, the health of their assets are priority #1. Plus I've read, MLB teams are back looking into turf.

One advantage of turf is there's no sprinkler heads to trip over.

The current turf used is not hard as a rock

Why not just keep the taxi squad quarantined in Toronto. Nothing else is going on here. I don’t understand why the entire team has to leave. Obviously being re-entered into Canada is annoying. But why not just keep the kids playing in Toronto. I know some will need to be moved on and off the roster. But you gradually move those players over to Buffalo. Tons of the players on the 60-Man will not see any major league time. Unless a disaster strikes. Like our entire MLB team gets Covid.

Its still not as soft as grass. And every player would want grass over the turf. Maybe now is the time to finally start the major renovations to Rogers Centre. They could 100% grow grass in that stadium with that right drainage system. And adjustments to the roof.

Location is WAY too good for the dome, they'd have to tear it down and rebuild it in one off season to maintain that place...

Supposedly the new artificial grass they have in Texas and Arizona is pretty good

Apparently the Jays installed/upgraded new turf in 2015, something I have absolutely no recollection of at all, so the turf is likely better than it used to be. I still think natural grass is the way to go, but it definitely won't happen at RC, so it's a moot point. If they keep upgrading the turf every so often so it's better for the players, then I'll take it.

Plan Z is best: forfeit all games, demote all players to the minors to preserve any service time they can, and get the top pick in the draft next year.

Calling Buffalo a worse case scenario is true but cruel. Even a homeless team looks at Buffalo and is saying no thanks. Did Randal really need to say that? We still have our AAA team there, don't need to burn bridges as you pass by to greener pastures.

Do you really not have any recollection of all the "FiLaMeNtS" memes when the new turf came into play and players were splaying all that black s*** every time they slid?

Moving all them guys and back is easy for the club. :P

Of course it is, and more teams will follow, our turf is fine.

Well if there's one thing the entirety of our outfield has it's speed. Let's hope they use it well.
