Ray Verified Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Looks like we might see Woods-Richardson after all? He's warming up.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Looks like we might see Woods-Richardson after all? He's warming up. Isnt he suppose to pitch 2-4 innings
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Isnt he suppose to pitch 2-4 innings Only 5 innings are being televised. The rest is probably more of a live BP which we won't get to see.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 Montoyo trolling the fans
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 Espinal has been impressive.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 Good game boys, nice to have baseball back on tv. Let’s see Austin Martin tomorrow please.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Montoyo trolling the fans Wish we could have seen SWR.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 I missed it. f*** There's one tomorrow too! What can you say about Bo....first pitch? I was really looking forward to see Rowdy's ABs. I was glad to see him against Giles. I thought he put up a really good battle after going 0-2 despite hitting a hard ground out. A nice single on a curve an a HPB. Dolis was another guy who didn't disappoint. All in all most of the regulars got a hit or a walk...great to see baseball on TV again!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 It’ll take Vlad more than 2 weeks to learn first base The foul ball with Caleb Joseph had nothing to do with him playing first. He just looked lost on it. He also looks massive.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 It's like a dream come true to watch a Jays game without hearing Buck and Pat. Shulman and Siddel can just take over full time thanks.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 7 pages in this thread, Reese hits a HR and no one said it looks like he has been working on his stroke during ST .... You guys disappoint me...

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 That double play in the 4th rocked.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 That double play in the 4th rocked. They started grooming Espinal to play up the middle. He’s also had time at CF, though I can’t confirm if he’s any good at it. Probably not as good Forrest Wall as he’s had more time there and better sprint speeds. Wall was also a middle infielder at one point.

Just s***** instincts. It wouldn't be surprising if someone like Espinal is actually a better CF than him.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 I wouldn’t go THAT far. He’s a decent centerfield and he’s pretty speedy, but the arm is below average. He doesn’t hit for power so corner OF is probably a no go and he’s not quite as good defensively as Jonathan Davis. But out of all those guys, Wall might have the slightly more promising hit tool.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Game 2, same time tonight. Edited July 15, 2020 by BlueRocky
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 No Blue Jays game on MLB TV tonight either!! I want a pro-ration for lack of ST games! I live in the US also...So Rogers BS should not affect me.. Also, why the hell is anyone enforcing a black out when no fans in the stands...??

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 The Dodgers have streamed their instrasquad games live on YouTube, and the White Sox are doing that as I type this. Seems like a good way to reach more people as not all Jays fans 1) live in Canada, and 2) have RSN or whatever channel it is airing on. At the end of the day the game is a scrimmage so not a big deal, but would be nice if they followed that same path.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Think harder, Carlos. Blackouts are traditionally for two reasons. 1) To put fans in the stands until full then lift blackout, a la NFL. 2) To protect local or Regional broadcasters from competition from a national network broadcasting the game and no one watching (loss of add revenue etc). Please educate me how the monopoly national broadcasting network with no local competition (that I am aware of), would feel the need to do that? I am assuming if a game is broadcast on/via MLB TV, Rogers receives royalties. If someone has NESN or YES, on a Rogers package, Rogers is receiving money from that. Where is the threat/competition for Rogers? Seriously asking and not being sarcastic. I am not familiar enough obviously with the situation in Canadian broadcasting??
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Who the f*** is this Tejada guy and why is he hitting second taking at-bats away from better players. Googled him... 30 year old journeymen who Montoyo probably likes for reasons.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
