King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Deets - (sorry it's big) 1. Grichuk likes an Aubrey Huff anti-Stroman tweet on twitter 2. Stroman takes notice 3. Stroman and Grichuk start throwing haymakers at each other
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Author Posted July 11, 2020 Here it's smaller Who is right?? Who is wrong??
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 I know exactly the type of person Stroman is (the type that has to make all their opinions known on social media, constant complaining). Honestly people like that are insufferable to deal with. Also that story about Stroman is pretty damning.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stroman is probably the biggest d bag in the league. Guys can’t stand him and his look at me act. He pretends he’s the worlds greatest teammate but the reality is he’s a selfish little bitch who thinks everything revolves around him. He blocked me after I told him height doesn’t measure brains when he called Huff a racist for questioning whether or not the noose story was true (it wasn’t). Insecure mamas boy who has more privilege than 99% of the population. f*** that guy.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stro is a piece of s***. I have no doubt the story is true...so what does Stroman do, play the race card against Huff and the popularity card against Grichuk....knowing that the casuals will flock to defend his nutsack.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Huff is a POS. Stroman is a dbag. Grichuk is bad at baseball. I would rather have Stroman on the team.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stroman is the definition of an ignorant d bag. Probably one of my most disliked players in the league. I'd rather have Randall, eat s*** Stro.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stroman is the definition of an ignorant d bag. Probably one of my most disliked players in the league. I'd rather have Randall, eat s*** Stro. Stro can be a dick and way to sensitive, but Randall doesn't seem all that smart. I'd also have Stro on my team because he's a better player. Huff takes being a POS to another level though.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Grichuk was done to me the moment he conveniently made a post about how evil bat flips are on the same day Tim Anderson did a bat flip against the Royals, but wouldn't admit he was talking about Anderson when confronted on it. Stroman gets way too much flack here. He has a strong personality and will rub people the wrong way, but he's exactly the type of player you would want on a team. Saved our asses in Game 5 against Texas, pitched a hell of a WC game, and as mentioned actually gave a s*** when the team was openly tanking. I'll take his side if the opposite side is Grichuk every single time.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stroman was one of the only guys still trying during our tank years. I could see how that would rub some teammates the wrong way. He also does a lot of good things for other people that very likely outweighs the dumb s*** he says. How are you quantifying this?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Grichuk was done to me the moment he conveniently made a post about how evil bat flips are on the same day Tim Anderson did a bat flip against the Royals, but wouldn't admit he was talking about Anderson when confronted on it. L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Stroman is exactly the kind of player you DONT want on your team. Honestly, nobody appreciates the self absorbed me guy who claims to care about his team but treats younger players like s***, throws tantrums and shoves himself in the spotlight. It wears on guys.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 For some reason, I fully expect they are all telling the truth. Stro kicked people out of the gym Grichuk is racist Grichuk is overrated Fans would rather have Stro than Grichuk on the team (ignoring cost, control, etc.) Grichuk comes off like he's incredible dumb. Stro is just super arrogant and talks too much.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Stroman came back from a torn ACL in about 5 months and helped the team get to the playoffs and advance as far as they did. Young players have said good things about him, and he's helped teammates on and off the field (ex. Sanchez before his 2016 breakout season). Just because he's self absorbed, it doesn't mean he's a bad teammate. It just means that he'll rub people the wrong way some times as some prefer their athletes to be humble and silent. He's neither of those things. I guarantee if you ask a group of Gen Z and young millennial players (of any race) who they would identify with more, I'd bet the answer for the great majority of that group would be Stroman and it wouldn't be close. We'll see what happens when Grichuk as the old man of the group tells everyone to run the bases and put their heads down, while everyone ignores him and gravitates to Bichette and Guerrero.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Which part? He was clearly trying during the tank years. I think we'll all agree there. As far as the positives, it's all over twitter. He shows up to youth teams just because the coach tweets him. He fits them with uni's. He gives tips all the time. And even though he clearly has a persecution complex and gets hyper defensive at everything, it seems to provide motivation and inspiration for his "followers". If he's gonna upset Huff/Grichuk in the process, oh well I guess. You can find articles of young teammates praising Stroman as well: https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2019/07/27/why-the-next-wave-of-blue-jays-pitching-hopes-stroman-doesnt-get-traded.html The part where you said nobody else was trying

Nobody overrates Grichuk. Stroman is clearly overrated by Canadian baseball fans across the country. He’s Dallas Keuchel who thinks he’s Gerritt Cole.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Extremely good content. Thank you, Twitter. Team Grichuk for me. I don’t care about on the field talent since Stroman is gone and not returning (obviously Stroman is better and Grichuk sucks vs his contract). That story about Stroman is horrendous. He must be a terrible influence on other players in any organization. And I’ll never forget the dog ears thing.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Stroman learned in his professional career from the two biggest egos in baseball. Funny that the media member the three of them X'd out in the clubhouse now works for the team.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Price and JD? Bautista and JD. Stro probably followed them around like a puppy dog.

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Stroman goes right for the race victim, pathtetic. Nowhere does it seem it has anything to do with Stro being black. What an idiot.
Key22 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Being liked as a pitcher or player in baseball is less important than talent - it's not like Hockey or basketball or soccer where there is more of a direct give and take and working together to get the job done. Baseball is individuals doing individual things for the most part. So Ty Cobb may be a total ass but he's a great player and your team will have a better chance to win if your team has Ty Cobb. These players today are often all spoiled brats - they make more money on draft day than most people on this board will earn in a 40 year working career. So they're millionaire's in their teens. Most of them are not too educated - getting scholarships based on their athletics not their brains. Oh they managed to scrape by with a C- woah what minds. People got on Rocky Henderson when he said "I'm the greatest of all time" - but I had no problem with that because - umm he WAS the greatest of all time (SB). So you can be a primadonna if you can back it up. The Jays were hoping that Grichuk might turn into the next Joey Bats. Hasn't happened but Stroman hasn't been the next Pedro Martinez which the hype machines have said was where he was headed. All those Stroman pitch analysis like best secondary stuff in the game etc etc. Stroman was a headache and he wasn't Pedro Martinez. Grichuk still has time to live up to his contract. I think all he needs to hit is 2.0 WAR to live up to his contract. He was a little above that in 2018. So there is a chance.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 I still to this day don’t understand why they paid Randal Grichuk to the same thing Teoscar Hernandez could do for the league minimum. In terms of a pure talent I would rather have Stroman. Stroman is so insufferable and everything he says makes you want to punch him. But Grichuk seems to be the type to get his nose and everything. Huff is just a clown. I don’t know if he’s racist but I know hes dumb.

I guess I get a ban for calling you out for being an ignorant a-hole? See you in a week, or never (maybe)???

Funny that the media member the three of them X'd out in the clubhouse now works for the team. Stroman really started to fly off the rails when Mark Buehrle left the Jays, the guy was able to keep Stroman's ego in check rather effectively.
