BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 We should counter by calling up Simeon Woods-Richardson.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 We should counter by calling up Simeon Woods-Richardson. Yes, we should counter the Padres counter of the Jays calling up Pearson.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Yes, we should counter the Padres counter of the Jays calling up Pearson. Pearson was a counter to instant ace Chris Paddack last year
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Shane Bieber gets two more Ks in the first to continue his torrid pace. However, along the way he encountered potentially now elite hitter Nick Castellanos who hit a bomb to CF. That was Bieber's first run given up.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Update: Bieber strikes out the side in the second.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 we dropped Moran? Do we even have a lefty out of the pen
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 we dropped Moran? Do we even have a lefty out of the pen Addition by subtraction. Where's Thomas Pannone at?
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Anthony Kay and Ryan Borucki are technically in the BP, both are LR / depth starter types.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Trout homers in his first AB since returning ... Like a dad boss
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 He has 70-grade speed and probably a 70 arm in the OF. It's painful watching him toil away at DH when he's probably a 5-win RF if he commits to it full time. Mlb.com Maddon believes that Ohtani can return to two-way status in 2021, especially with a normal offseason of rest and a regular Spring Training. “From what I've seen, I believe that he can,” Maddon said. “We just got to get past the arm maladies and figure that out."

I have to believe there were commitments re: usage (pitching and hitting) in his original agreement that the Angels have to fulfill (unless they can get his buy in to scrap the pitching).
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 We can safely assume his tendons are barely intact. Montoya will do the rest Remember last month a lot of folks here were on the Giles extension bandwagon Well, thank god he got injured so you could declare yourself correct
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Well, thank god he got injured so you could declare yourself correct lol... f***ing JimmyC. *smh*
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Well, thank god he got injured so you could declare yourself correct I didn't get involved in last month's discussion of extending Giles, FYI Stop obsessing over my every post.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Alex Reyes getting the call up. Will this guy finally get it going, at 25?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Juan Soto is back in the Nats' lineup tonight.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I don't think I've ever seen a 2-seamer with that much run.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Juan Soto is back in the Nats' lineup tonight. First AB he goes opposite field for an RBI double on an outside offspeed pitch. He's such a great hitter.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 First AB he goes opposite field for an RBI double on an outside offspeed pitch. He's such a great hitter. And now he just made an excellent catch. What an exciting player. He did land super awkwardly though so hopefully he's not hurt.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Welp, Juan Soto might have injured his wrist or arm on the diving catch. He's probably out of the game too. Fun couple of innings for Nats fans and baseball fans alike. Edit: he's back out there

He was probably foaming at the mouth watching Bonifacio play in his place.
