Also how the hell is Pillar batting 5th for the Red Sox yesterday

Never forget he opened the season as our lead off hitter once.

Luis Castillo just struck out the side in the 6th. 11 Ks through those frames. The Reds' pitching is manhandling the Tigers.

Pretty good start for Brady Singer. Not hard to see him developing into a mid-rotation starter with his stuff.

Don't think I have seen this mentioned yet here: Daniel Bard, in his first MLB appearance since 2013, got the win after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. He gave up 2 hits, and most importantly ZERO walks. It's a nice thing to see a guy come back from the dead like that. It reminds me of Steve Delabar back in the day (one of only a handful of Jays to pitch an immaculate inning). Edited by WILLIEUPSHAW

Eh I thought the same at first but I don't think it's too bad. He's already 24 and pitched 90 pretty good innings in AA last year. With no minor league baseball this year it's probably fine to give him innings at the major league level.

I think that 12 MLB starts would be more beneficial for his development than sitting around at the reserve-squad and jerking off.

Will be interesting to see how he fairs for the rest of the season

Ohtani makes his first start of the season today - he has to be as good (or better) than pre injury on the mound for the Angels to make it to .500 and the playoffs, though apparently Bundy was excellent in their win yesterday.

He hit 99 MPH also. That's a great story. He was nasty back from 2009 to 2011.

Didn't Delabar also throw 4 ks in one inning?

The Miami Marlins are apparently riddled with covid.

Maybe they should have just moved Baseball out of Florida all together.

The crowd sounds in Oakland have a weird echo, it sounds like it was recorded in an indoor swimming pool.

Well, you'd need to move it out of California too.

Verlander out for the season with an elbow injury.

If this is the end of the road for him an absolutely epic career no doubt. One of the GOATs.

Should have done that years ago

Ohtani got rocked... :(

The arm strength clearly wasn’t there. Sitting 90-92 for the first 15 pitches and threw all curveballs as he couldn't trust his FB. Walked three guys to start the game. Got up to 93-95 after the 16th pitch. He topped out at 95 and only hit it once or twice, couldn’t throw a reliable fastball for strikes even on pitch 30. Not ideal but the Angels let him keep pitching until the game was 4-0 and he couldn't record an out.

Long term Ohtani will be fine, but he could’ve used an extra month of spring training just to build arm strength and shake off the rust.

Just brutal. Sad if true. HOF will have the door open for him.
