I hate Biggio as a starting 3rd baseman, not overall as a player. Has a great future as the 10th man.

 

And I like Panik as a backup 2B. There are very lown standards for that.

This is really just a head scratcher. We really couldn’t do any better. I don’t even know how he got 2 guaranteed years let alone 12 million per. Vogelbach wasn't actually complete garbage and we essentially got him for free, he just didn't fit here.

Ideally they've front-loaded it a bit, but I don't see an issue with a $12M AAV for Roark. Can pitch a good number of innings, pretty decent K/BB rate, probably wind up ~2 WAR.

I said 2B is the only position he could be a full time starter at without being a weak point in the defense. Although even that might look iffy on this team since we got Semien for this year obviously and might shift Bo there next year IF we go after one of the stud SS's in the offseason.

 

Otherwise, he will continue to provide VALUABLE skills by being able to play all over in case of injuries and allowing people to get day offs without sacrificing the quality of our lineup.

Basically most of their mid tier free agent acquisitions have been bad. They should stick to going after the elites (Ryu/Springer) and penny pinch in the clearance bin lol.
