A solid innings eating if unspectacular starting pitcher. If he just does what he has done he's a fine placeholder.

 

The Jays will not be making anything even remotely close to a playoff run for two years but they need some pitchers to hold the team together and win enough to create a bit of a winning atmosphere for the young guys. You really don't want to be down 5-0 by the 3rd inning every game.

 

The Jays can't afford or won't afford Ace pitchers so signing 2 guys like Roark and having depth and pick up some relievers - might get you to 80 wins or so.

Our rotation is going to be Shoemaker, Anderson, Pearson in mid May, Thornton and now Roark.
