Aguilar to the Rays, one less Smoak suitor

for Faria.

I liked Faria, but the dude doesn't seem likely to NOT give up tons of homers in the near future.

The Cubs' literal rental of Martin Maldonado is over. They're sending him back to Houston for Tony Kemp who was DFA'd.

Allard is now slotted number 16 on Texas prospects charts according to MLB.com. I think that should put to rest the Kay or Allard debate.

Fangraph's puts Allard in as Texas's #23 overall prospect.

You think orgs don't care about PR and perception? Lol.

Meh, I hope they don't waste time thinking about it.

I want a Front Office who is confident in their decisions, and one that takes risks. If WR turns in to an absolute stud, are they going to give them credit for it? No, just like the same people will be bitching on here regardless of how that trade turns out in 5 years.

Like I've said before, am I thrilled with the Stroman trade? No.

Do I think people are overreacting when they say the trade was brutal for the Jays? Yes.

I'm okay with the return, but I'm also not the biggest Stroman fan. I also think WR has tremendous upside, and we will see that next year when he skyrocket's into the top 100.

Hmm, surprised the Yanks are interested in him.

Although they always seem to be interested in every player on the market.

I love that the Tigers are sticking to their prices.

I mean, they can stick to it all they want.

They definitely won't be getting Kieboom, eventually the Tigers will have to come back to reality.

Still not trading Giles for Frazier, that's a bad trade.

We got a 23 year old in high A, looks like another potential starter. He's finally having a good year now that he's got the walks down and strikeouts up in his second go around at high A

Johnston features a 3-pitch repertoire of a 91-95mph fastball, a low-80s slider, plus a mid-80s changeup with movement.

I would like the Jays to get Freicer Perez + for Giles

Couldn't this be mitigated (the risk I mean) by naming P(s)TBNL, and then saying okay, if he pitches in August here's Pool A to draw from. If he misses all of August here's pool B to draw from?

Of course, the medicals, too.

Why would we do that if we have him under control for next year?

If the pool A player return is solid, maybe do it. I am not saying it is the perfect move, but I suspect they legit want to start with a clean slate and will pay to start fresh. #hottake
