wk680 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 All young players need to take an introductory course to playing at the Trop. Hey look kid, there's going to be no one in the stands, you're playing on asphalt, if you hit the ball into the air it's gonna hit something hanging from the roof so just keep running. They're gonna pull their starter after the 1st inning and they might switch to 4 OFs mid AB. Just hang in there kid. Good summary but it's not all bad. At least it is indoors/temperature controlled (it gets so hot and humid there in the summer). Also, the visiting team has the bonus that they will often have more fans in the stands than the Rays.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Thats one way to get the lead runner out
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Well at least Tellez made up for it with a perfect throw to third.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Kiermaier being a pain in the ass, ho-hum.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 That was great, KK still has it.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Sanchez out early again "no reason to speculate"
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 Sanchez to the IL in 3,2,1.....
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 This is what, the third time this year he leaves early because of blisters?
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 If its a blister again Jays might wanna seriously look at turning Sanchez into late inning reliever (7th and 8th inning??)
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 If its a blister again Jays might wanna seriously look at turning Sanchez into late inning reliever (7th and 8th inning??) For another team I hope.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 If its a blister again Jays might wanna seriously look at turning Sanchez into late inning reliever (7th and 8th inning??) Apparently the blisters are caused from his fastball. One advantage of the pen is he could throw a much higher percentage of curves - and that is a really nasty pitch for him. I do kind of wonder if pitching out of the pen might cause the blisters to build up more than as a starter where he has more time in between appearances though.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Sanchez is not reliable time to move on.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 This is f***ing pathetic. Reminds me of house league baseball
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 The Jays at the Trop is always the worst experience ever. Nothing goes our way and the Rays get everything going theirs.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Maile is supposed to be our "veteran" of the two catchers... Pathetic!!
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 This is f***ing pathetic. Reminds me of house league baseball This team is hard to watch....gonna be a long season.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 The Jays at the Trop is always the worst experience ever. Nothing goes our way and the Rays get everything going theirs. Simple answer- Play better!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Next pitcher please lol @ blaming this on Waguespack. Gets two strikeouts and then the Rays get two garbage hits combined with some awful defense and it's the pitcher's fault.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Good inning from Waguespack, can't blame s*** luck on him.
wk680 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Next pitcher please It's not his fault they aren't hitting him hard, just finding ho.es in the defense for s*** singles and a hustle double that was made possible by how slowly it rolled out to the outfield. And then when your defense starts throwing the balll away that just makes it so much more of a clusterf***. Tough way to debut in the MLB.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I hate playing the Rays, always seems to be the worse.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 MLB should allow pitchers to tape up their fingers. The hiding sandpaper excuse is easily overcome if umps are allowed to inspect the pitcher's hands before every inning: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/dodgers-rich-hill-desperate-to-solve-blister-issues-plans-to-ask-mlb-to-let-him-pitch-with-tape-on-his-fingers/
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 For the record, Waguespack got three times as many swinging strikes in that inning as Sanchez did in his entire outing, 27 pitches (6 SwStr) vs. 64 (2 SwStr).
