Vladito has the 4th fastest EV for any ball hit in play tonight I believe. 2 of the top 4 including Vlad's were GIDP

Poor Alonso. He took his flat swing path / line drive approach and scrapped it to become a flyball revolution hitter. The revolution is now over (with the onset of the high fastball) and now he's s***.

 

I mean he isn't that poor....that one big year landed him like $20M - so he's laughin', but it's still a bit ironic.

Average defense helps his future value a lot. The assumption was he was going to be a Miguel Cabrerra or Prince Fielder, with negative defense, average defense would add a WAR or 2 to his total every year.
