Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Vlad is really struggling. Chasing pitches out of the zone. Change ups at the bottom of the zone that has already been called a strike....isnt exactly chasing
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Hasn’t been a pretty start for vlad. Needs to get into one eventually..
baubau Verified Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Man, Vladdy is scuffling And Jansen. I get you want your catcher to be focused on the defence but he went from having more BB's to K's (or a small variance between the two) to 7.8% BB and 26.7% K. I have no idea how that vanished overnight.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Vlad is really struggling. Chasing pitches out of the zone. With this ump, as long as it doesn't bounce 6' in front of the plate it could be called a strike. Even then, like... 50/50.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 Probably, he said he "heard it", so that could mean literally anything. Atkins needs to learn to keep his hand close to his chest. Law got this from somewhere.
Stoneyen Verified Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 How can Vlad go 10 games basically and not 1 mistake pitch to him...yet every other hitter gets 1 a game basically This is a dumb take. The guy is clearly struggling, he's chasing s*** pitches and pounding everything he does make contact too into the ground.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 This is a dumb take. The guy is clearly struggling, he's chasing s*** pitches and pounding everything he does make contact too into the ground. 12 pitches this game...1 in the strike zone. He only chased the pitches that were called a strike...you cant let the pitch go if the ump already called it a strike...thanks for playing though with the dumb take lmao
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Atkins needs to learn to keep his hand close to his chest. Law got this from somewhere. Ken Rosenthal was reporting it also.. If Ken is, must be solid source... Don't think it was Law who broke it...
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 Stroman has nowhere near the intensity he pitched with prior to his last start. The news about him being traded looks like it may have rattled him. He needs to start thinking of himself and his next contract, but with him being such a home town boy, he may find it hard.

I have no idea how that vanished overnight. Every young player has a horrible k/bb ratio. Every young player has been horrible other then Tellez. Last year Jansen, McKinney, Gurriel, and Hernandez were ordinarily mediocre to OK (Jansen). This year in a few hundred combined at bats they are a disaster.

Man you are firing some horrendous takes in this thread.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Lol ump, that was a foot below the bottom of the zone.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 This is a dumb take. The guy is clearly struggling, he's chasing s*** pitches and pounding everything he does make contact too into the ground. I think the truth is about half way in between. He hasn't been given much to hit and he's chased. He should be talking more walks and waiting for his pitch. The few good pitches he's gotten he seems to have fouled off or swung through. His ground ball rate would be a historic record and if he had a good on base guy in front him he'd have about 80 double plays if that continued. He hasn't hit a popup. He's hit maybe 3 fly balls a couple of line drives, 10 or so ks, and what... 15-20 chopping grounders?? Even 4/5 hits I believe have been chopping grounders that snuck though or the infielder bobbled.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 f***, time to break out the goddamn golf clubs.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Holy f***, what can you even do at that point? Expand the zone by two inches in each direction?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Author Posted May 7, 2019 Man you are firing some horrendous takes in this thread. WTF are you talking about? He doesn't even get involved like he used to on the bench after a run scored or a HR. The life had been sucked out of him.
Superdood Verified Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 While I agree the umpire has been especially bad tonight this team is still an offensive black hole and a couple of calls here and there don't mean much when you regularly have no hits through 4 or 5 innings.

The life had been sucked out of him. What runs or homeruns? The offense has been dead cold since the last Oakland series, not exactly much for him to celebrate. He's probably pissed that he's not pitching well, the fact that you think this has anything to do with some ******** rumour that didn't get any traction from the media is hilariously misinformed.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 man it's almost impossible to stay logged into this site
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I think the trade talk articles re Stroman Sanchez and Smoak are hurting this team. I wish Sportsnet would stop putting out those trade rumour articles on a daily basis

I wish Sportsnet would stop putting out those trade rumour articles on a daily basis Players who have an inability to get hits, make plays in the field and pitchers who are having trouble making quality pitches are hurting the team far more than those articles.
