jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 So if you walk 6 and strike out 3, while throwing a no hitter. You f***ing suck and pitched an awful game? Pretty much. That would be incredibly lucky
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Watching the hockey game. Why is Sanchez out? Blister again it looks like
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 So if you walk 6 and strike out 3, while throwing a no hitter. You f***ing suck and pitched an awful game? Correct. Glad you get it and we can move on from this discussion.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Pretty much. That's objectively a terrible argument and I would feel sorry if someone believed that. Pitching isnt just Ks and walks. Never has been and never will be. It's about getting outs and not giving up baserunners and runs. It can be done 100s of different ways. You cant strike out every batter. That would be best, but you cant
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Brandon Drury is scorching.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 More walks than strike outs. No swinging strikes. Day cut short because of blisters. Nice of Aaron Sanchez to give us a quintessential Sanchez performance on a day when he's been the topic of fierce debate on the BJMB.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Holy f*** another incredible throw from Laureano. What an arm.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Holy s*** man he has a great arm. I didn't even think he had a chance to make it close.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I am just waiting for Morales to cost the A’s a run/outs at 1b. It has to happen you would think.. Like I said
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Hey Jansen, please keep hitting - everyone
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Laureano seems like a shoo-in to win a Gold Glove this season.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 How many games does Org need to win before we start an appreciation thread? I'm going with 6

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 True, but the skill of being able to consistently miss bats is decidedly more effective than hitters being able to make contact with virtually everything, and hoping the ball goes directly to a defender. Absolutley. But it's not awful if you can effectively succeed without missing bats at a rate done so by top Aces or great strike out pitchers. There is less room for error, but so what imo lol Sanchez at his best (no blisters like today) is a pitcher that isnt seen much in today's game. Someone who succeeds by limiting hits, while walking a few batters guaranteed and doesnt strike out a lot. It is what it is. He has been good this year. Not great. But good
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Broken fingernail lol, here we go again.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Bullpen arm at best for Sanchez.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Great job Hudson, now Biagini needs to keep it going.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 See you in Dunedin 2020 Sanchy. ok let's not jump to conclusions...maybe he just needs some nail glue.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 This reminds me of that one year we were doing ok and I think we lost like 3 starting pitchers in like 3 days. Want to say it was Marcum, Morrow and Halladay? ICR... It was like May or June one year..?

Want to say it was Marcum, Morrow and Halladay? ICR... It was like May or June one year..? It would have been Kyle Drabek, not Halladay. I also can't quite recall if Marcum was the other guy, I know Morrow and Drabek were two of them. Edit: the third was Drew Hutchison

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Grichuk is being served a steady diet of high fastballs, and he's struggling with them. Needs to adjust or lay off of those.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Better than Syndergaard I want to rescind my nomination of you for most improved poster.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Will be interesting to see how Charlie Yost bridges this game to Giles tonight!
