The Toronto Blue Jays have discussed trading outfielder Kevin Pillar with multiple clubs, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The rebuilding Blue Jays already dealt designated hitter Kendrys Morales to the Oakland Athletics, and Pillar could be next to go in order to make room for the young outfielders in Toronto's pipeline, Rosenthal adds.

Teoscar Hernandez, Billy McKinney, and Randal Grichuk have lined up alongside Pillar in Toronto's outfield in the first games of the season. Should Pillar be moved, Anthony Alford could find himself at the big-league level.

The San Francisco Giants recently emerged as a potential trade partner for the 30-year-old center fielder, but no deal materialized. Apparently, they are not alone in the market for Pillar, but the other teams remain unknown.

The free-swinging outfielder is coming off a season where he hit .252/.282/.426 with 15 home runs and 40 doubles over 142 games.

Through the season's first three games, he has been unable to find a groove at the dish, going 0-for-12 with three strikeouts against the Detroit Tigers.

Pillar is under team control through the 2020 campaign and will enter his final year of salary arbitration at the conclusion of this season.

Pillar to the Giants in exchange for INF Luis Toribio and RHP Ray Black

Pillar + int money to giants for nothing

Honestly even if we got $5 of Intl money for Pillar I'd consider it a win from a viewing perspective. I know he has the potential to be a useful 4th OF but good christ I can't watch those at bats anymore. Give me Anthony

Pillar has more harmless pop-ups in the first three games of this season than Joey Votto probably has in the last decade

Most annoying to see:

A) Pillar

B) Arencibia

C) Aaron Hill (Bad version)

When will BTS and the other Pillar defenders show up in here?

How much trade value does Pillar actually have?

Pillar rough comparables would be Billy Hamilton, Alex Gordon, Jacoby Jones. Hamilton was signed as a FA for the same money Pillar is making this year.

Pillar would be a minor upgrade on existing options for a team needing an OF. Entirely possible the next OF on such a team's depth chart delivers more than Pillar.

So basically, he's worth a bag of balls.

Now if the Jays eat a couple of million, they could get some value back.

He's coming off a 2 WAR season, and he's still good with the glove. He is what he is with the bat. Nothing major, maybe an interesting C prospect with upside, looks like they're going hard after international spending money, so they must have something up their sleeves there.

His defense has declined a little though, still very good but I dont' see him winning any GG.

I think Maizer Izturis is the saddest Blue Jay ever. But yes, Arencibia and Tallet had basically no redeeming qualities.

At least Hill and Pillar come/came with really good memories.

Kevin Gregg was pretty annoying.

Why is that? He put together a pretty solid season for us. Then he signed a bigger contract with the Orioles and sucked. Sounds like a success to me.

Should do a top 10. Other candidates include Laffey, Bonifacio, Eveland, Towers, Solarte, Thole

Who ya got?

No mention of RA Dickey? Probably the most frustrating player I've ever watched on the Blue Jays, despite garnering normal results from time to time. Doesn't help that we had to carry Thole with him the whole time and the constant reminder that he was traded for Syndergaard.

I hated watching him, but I appreciated him for what he was: a workhorse league-average starter. He also seemed like a good guy. Now that he's gone and took Thole with him, I don't really harbour any resentment.

I guess I'm missing the adjective, but watching Pillar on defense doesn't fall in here, also, carrying Thole was the only thing annoying about Dickey. Aaron Hill was a joy to watch. How the f*** isn't Goins mentioned.

Need to fix this oversight.
