Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Julian Merryweather is another that will go on the 60 Day DL, don't sweat it bro. Yes forgot about him! So we have a little bit of room to work with. That might allow Axford to make the team then.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I'm glad the Jays are giving Pompey a chance. He might not turn into anything, but this is the year to experiment with talent and see what happens.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 jays already have four outfielders We are going to trade Kevin Pillar to the Giants for a couple of prospects.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 We are going to trade Kevin Pillar to the Giants for a couple of prospects. Are they still interested, that would be ideal? These guys are still FA's... Austin Jackson (32) Adam Jones (33) Denard Span (35) Chris Young (35)
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 We are going to trade Kevin Pillar to the Giants for a couple of prospects. I think that we need to see more of our young outfielders, particularly Alford and McKinney, before we deal away KP. His value shouldn't change much between now and July.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I don't hate the idea of keeping him but what better way to see more of our young outfielders than to trade a veteran who isn't controllable by the time we are going to be perennial contenders next anyway.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I can only seeing Pillar having value at the deadline if a team needs to shore up their Outfield. The boat to trade him has probably already passed. Hes not even an elite defender anymore. I wouldn't expect much of a return but I would be impressed if the Jays got one.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 You only see Pillar traded if a team needs an outfielder? Damn, what a take
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Yes forgot about him! So we have a little bit of room to work with. That might allow Axford to make the team then. That is not a good thing.

I'd just rather see a young outfielder force their way onto the team instead of being handed a job and flopping. I don't have much confidence in our other CF options right now other than Gruchuk.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 You only see Pillar traded if a team needs an outfielder? Damn, what a take That's not actually what I said at all. I was suggesting his value was limited and team would look at him more as depth piece. Thought you were smarter my guy. Colour me disappointed.
